Happy National Maple Syrup Day! We’re celebrating by spotlighting the Proctor Maple Research Center (PMRC) at UVM -- the world’s oldest maple research center, established in 1946. PMRC conducts scientific research to inform maple producers and enhance maple syrup production across the globe!

Since '97, Hilda White's volunteered at the UVM Pringle Herbarium. When Herbarium Director Weston Testro discovered a new species of fern, he honored Hilda by naming it after her: https://www.uvm.edu/cals/news/legacy-leaves-pringle-herbarium-honors-95-year-old-hilda-white-holly-fern-will-carry-her.

It's been announced that Associate Dean of Research and Postgraduate Education for CALS and CDAE Professor, Asim Zia, will be inducted as a Fellow into the National Academy of Public Administration on 11/2. He's only the second Vermonter to be inducted into this prestigious national organization!
