Heading out for two back-to-back workshops, ten days being away from home. So I needed to bulk up my stock…five days of dyeing wool and a week of drawing patterns. Wish me luck! I'll be worn out!😉

“Jaws” came out when I was in high school. We saw it at the theater, mobs of people went to see it. I just watched the documentary about the 50th anniversary of it's release and wow, is it good! Steven Spielberg shares his memories and reveals behind-the-scenes stories. Really worth watching.

Had a busy couple of days dyeing wool. I sold a lot at my most recent workshop, so I had to catch up my inventory. This will fill in some gaps. 🥰

Our current feral kitten cluster. They're close to being weaned, at which point we hope to capture them, have them fixed, and adopt them. Right now they scatter and are afraid of us, but we're working on that!

Those of us of a certain age will remember the sweet, charming children's books we grew up with. I loved “Frog and Toad Are Friends” as a kid. So when I saw this t-shirt, I had to have it! 🥰

An update 🙂. I'm prepping to teach a workshop, so progress will be slow, but I did squeeze in a bit more featherage. 😉 I work on it as often as I can!

Here's the beginning of the Macaw, Endangered Species rug project!

Off I go on the new project! The endangered Scarlet Macaw.

Since finishing the self portrait, I'm starting a new one as part of a group project to highlight the Save Endangered Species program. I've chosen a Macaw, because they're threatened by the loss of their environment by cutting and burning forests. I'll post my work in progress as I go.

The rug is complete. I added some little metal gears and cogs to parts of it to create some more texture and jazz it up a little bit. Very pleased! ☺️

I'm finished! I mean, my self portrait is finished.☺️ I'm very happy with how it turned out and also that it was a fun and quick rug to create. I'll give myself a break before I start another, but this was a good one to do.

Yay! The hooking is finished! Next step, trim and whip the edges. Very happy with this one.☺️🥰

Got more background filled in. I'm pleased with the way everything has come together. Now to finish the rest of the background and then finish the outside border!☺️

So I'm playing with the border layout and also added a tail to the gray squirrel in the foreground. Fun!

My mother's been gone for two years and I will miss her forever. The caption under her yearbook picture said, “Her smile describes her”. And it did.❤️

Rehooked the lettering to make it show up better, added some more background. Moving right along!

I'm home from teaching a workshop and have taken some time to work on the portrait today. Feels good to move forward!

And speaking of workshops, I spent the last three days dyeing wool, 63 half yard pieces!

I'm getting ready to teach a workshop this week, but I did get some background filled in.☺️

There exists an entire length of couch, another couch, an upholstered chair and a very nice floor rug. But Molly opts for my pile of wool on which to rest her head and shed her fur.

We've sheltered and fed seven feral cats for over a year now. I just caught one of them, Boomer, cozied up in our flower pot. He likes overseeing his domain.☺️

I'm all filled in, so now comes the background. I've got to teach a workshop next week, so I'm on hold for hooking time, but I'll be back at it asap!

People, watch The Pitt. It's outstanding. Noah Wyle is incredible, the entire cast is wonderful. It's brutal, it's heartfelt, it's a triumph. I am pacing myself because I don't want it to be over, but I'm going to have to finish it. Highly recommend!

I'm making progress! The lettering gets overpowered at this point, but when the background is filled in, I'll rehook the letters with wider strips that stand out better.☺️

I added the first squirrel today. I'm using a finer, smaller cut for the wool strips and so it takes longer to fill in. But I think it worked to mimic the fur. Four more to go!😩

Started my self portrait! It's going to be fun. My husband said it already looks like me, so that's a good start. I'm looking forward to the squirrels next. A fun one!

Hi everyone! Today's my birthday and it's starting out with sunshine and some warmer temperatures. I can't ask for a nicer gift than that! Well, maybe cake…😉

Oops. I was naughty at the other place, where I still have friends, and I'm shut down for 12 hrs. I may have suggested something happen to Don and JD after their attack on Zelenskyy today.
