Bsky is not a place I’ve found welcoming for any of my interests, tbh. People are siloing art into camps, invites have been given to people who are deeply flawed and purposefully setting out to be hateful. I’m not here for it. Being free to be lewd is not enough to sustain social interaction 🕳

I’m stunned by this

It’s important to understand that being a marginalized person doesn’t automatically confer intersectionality or compassion/sensitivity to the experiences of other folx at other margins. Check your own isms - only by understanding your self can you begin to understand others. Be kind.

Today marks the first long weekend of summer in Canada (depending on provincial holidays and the specifics of your job we enjoy one statutory every month of the year except November. March and April get Easter to share/move around)

I’ve been in the studio working on an abstraction - needed a mindset shift away from figuration for a minute to loosen up my thinking - figuration is intense in a different way. I do both in addition to GAN.

Being raised by an abusive father who was a racist, sexist, homophobic sociopath, knowing by age of 6 he was wrong about everything. Because I was groomed by him and my mother unalived herself to escape him and because I process things sequentially I have been radicalized over time, over decades 🙏🏻

It’s my one month anniversary.
