My timeline is such a whiplash inducing mix of ‘ICE are jackbooted thugs’ interspersed with ‘look! Aren’t these two guys kissing so hot?’ No overlap between the two, to be clear.

I’m on episode 5 of #cdrama #LoveBetweenLines and so far it’s super cute.

Turns out that if I have 15% or less left in a book, I will in fact not stop reading until I’m done even if that means I’m up an hour past my bedtime. Current Me thinks Past Me was something of a bitch right now.

I spent 1.5 hours digging out the two foot pile of snow deposited by the plows out from in front of car yesterday. This morning I see the new two foot pile of snow and ice chunks they deposited over night. Siiiiigh. I loathe snow.

I am thoroughly amused at the number of ‘but what if the hockey players were also alpha werewolves’ romance novels being pushed by my ad algorithms right now.

Facebook’s advertising algorithm is clearly trying to figure how much smut is too much smut to show me in reels. It got pretty graphic in there at one point. If wore pearls, they’d have been clutched.

BL is not my wheelhouse. Can anyone recommend a good, spicy BL drama? Asking for a friend.

Teen horror was totally a thing I read voraciously as a teen (Dark Forces, Point Horror, Christopher Pike, RL Stine, etc). So much so there are certain songs from the 80s & early 90s that will instantly remind me of the teeny bopper horror I was reading when it was in heavy rotation on the radio.

I’ve gone down a trashy entertainment spiral lately by adding trashy romance novels to my TTSFCD addiction. I realized how far down I’ve gone because I started a new, non-trashy, non-romance fantasy book and we’re on ch 2 & I found myself thinking ‘gosh, no one has fucked yet’.

Whenever a #kdrama has a kiss before episode 8 (though with shorter dramas, this is becoming more common but when I started watching dramas tended to be 18-24 episodes long):

What makes zombie shows so tough is the constant cycling of raising and dashing hopes. It’s exhausting! That said, there’s a lot of pathos in this show as well.

Dipping my toes into All of Us Are Dead. I tried this drama once before early last year but it, like many others, through no fault of its own, fell victim to my TTSFCD obsession. Also, it’s hard to watch if my housemates are around b/c some of them can’t take the imagery. #kdrama

I have mistakenly reached the point of too hungry to make a decision on what to eat. Complicated by the fact that the first thing I thought of is not available.

Day 28: an industry change you want to happen. Hm. It’s not really and ‘industry’ change but it is adjacent to the industry. Stop holding celebrities to impossible standards & crucifying them if/when they fail. Tangentially, stop absolutely destroying celebs lives on hearsay. Get evidence. #EYDC2025

Day 27: a drama you want more people to watch. This is tough b/c I don’t think anything watched this year was under viewed. From the amount I loved it, I’ll say The First Frost, but it’s definitely not a ‘for everyone’ show. It isn’t a slow burn; it’s glacial but in the best way. #EYDC2025

Day 26: most disappointing drama of 2025. I’ll go with For Eagle Brothers because I loved every clip that came across my YT timeline but couldn’t make it mor than halfway through the first episode. Which is probably a me issue & not the drama’s fault. I’ll try again sometime. #EYDC2025

Day 25: sweetest romance of 2025. There’s a lot of competition here. For #kdramas I’ll give it to Love Scout. For #cdramas The First Frost is running neck and neck with The Best Thing. Leaning ever so slightly to TBT. #EYDC2025

Oh no! I missed day 24! I was doing so well. Anyway, day 24: favorite costumes of 2025. I’m going to disqualify Whispers of Fate because I haven’t finished it. So this will go to Love Game in Eastern Fantasy. #EYDC2025

Day 23: a drama that made you think I’ll give this one to I Saw The Devil. One of the oldest things I watched this year. It’s aggressively violent. There are no good guys here. ** It made me think a lot about the difference between antihero & villain. #EYDC2025

Day 22: a drama worth the hype I’m going to cheat here and use something I watched late last year b/c I finished so few this year that the answers are repetitive. Memoir of a Murderer was everything it was hyped to be. Not a comfortable watch but a very good movie. #EYDC2025

Day 21: A drama that surprised you. I’m going to give this one to When The Phone Rings. At the time I watched it (very end of 2024, finished in 2025), reviews were all over the place. I was surprised by how very much I ended up liking it & how quickly I did a rewatch. #EYDC2025

Day 20: a drama that made you sad/cry Im a sap, so the answer here is ‘most of them’ but I’ll go with a runner up (Our Unwritten Soul) and a crown champion (The First Frost). Seriously so much crying for both, but in different flavors of crying. #EYDC2025

Day 19: a drama that made you laugh I’m going to give this one to My Dearest Nemesis because what a delightful goober is the male lead. :) #EYDC2026

It continues to surprise me how much of an impact Jonghyun’s passing has had on me, especially as I was not primarily a SHINee fan at the time (I did love them but GOT7 and BTS were eating up most of my attention at the time). I came to SHINee kind of sideways, having found Minho first via kdramas.

I’m on episode 15 of Our Secret and the complication character has been introduced and I’m over here so protective of my OTP that my reaction to this person who has done nothing (yet) to deserve this is ‘and what is this tramp up to? Go away!’ :) #cdrama

Day 18: most watched genre of 2025 The real answer to this is Truly Terrible Shortform Chinese Dramas, of which I’ve watched approximately 34542464535 this year. In more ‘legit’ (tracked) viewing its slice of life romances. #EYDC2025

I thing I actively dislike in kpop/kdrama realms is the ‘this celeb was tangentially adjacent to something sketchy but didn’t do the sketchy thing themselves, but we’re still going to make them sit in a corner and flog themselves until we’re satisfied’ mentality.

Day 17: Best actor of 2025 My heart wants to say Luo Yun Xi in Whispers of Fate b/c it is a simp for him but I haven’t actually watched the whole show so instead I will go with Bai Jing Ting as Sang Yan in The First Frost b/c the combo of sexy & vulnerable was chef’s kiss. #EYDC2025

Day 16: Best Actress of 2025 I really loved Chae Soo Bin in When the Phone Rings and Zhang Ruo Nan in The First Frost. But i have to give the award to Park Bo Young for the dual roles in Our Unwritten Soul. #EYDC2025

Also, I just want to pinch Chen Zhe Yuan’s little baby cheeks.

Coming of age, high school to college growing up together turning romance remains my favorite kind of #cdrama.

This seems to nicely straddle my interest groups.

Day 15: favorite drama poster of 2025 Easy - basically any of the Whispers of Fate posters. Have I mentioned how damn pretty this show is? #EYDC2025

Day 14: a writer or director who caught your attention. This one’s hard because I don’t really pay attention to who is writing/directing stuff most of the time. I’ll go w/Kim Ji Eun, screenwriter for Love Scout. I haven’t seen any of their other shows before. I loved the mature romance. #EYDC2025

Day 13: a drama you found boring. Here I’m going to say She and Her Perfect Husband. Which will make it sound like I don’t like it. I do like it when I’m watching it, but the pacing is practically torturous so far. #EYDC2025

Almost missed day 12: a platonic relationship you loved. For something I watched in 2025, I’m going to go with the sisters in Our Unwritten Soul. It wasn’t a smooth relationship but I loved how they were ultimately there for each other. #EYDC2025
