Installed new shift boot for console deleted NA Miata. Time to see if the new boot, which is 1.8" longer than the original, stays under the carpet while I row through the gears.

I haven't had a full riding season since I got her in 2017, but every year she runs better. Adjusted the electronic ignition, did an oil change, new plug, and a leaner main, and she hit 90 Royal Enfield mph effortlessly (dunno what that is in real mph.) Hot AF today. I feel like a hot pocket.

Adjusted valves, adjusted timing, re-jetted carb, and she's running better than she has in years. Rocker oil feed line broke. (Was only cracked when I caught it, so the top end was still getting oil, but so was the frame, my pants, etc.) Pushed the bike for an hour to my garage. Safe and sound!

Got a new helmet. Fritz got a new toy. The helmet was in a bag in a backpack in a box, like a weird children's song. I don't know if that's normal. I haven't bought a new helmet in awhile.

Holy shit I just remembered there was an X-Files collectable card game in the '90s. Highlander, too. The early CCG boom was a magical time. A cambrian explosion of nerdiness.

Not only did I put the top down in the Miata today, but it's motorcycle season.

IT'S TIME!

I did the plugs in the Volvo, and I should NOT have waited this long. Two were seized, three were finger tight, there was either rust or oil on their threads, and each were so, so worn. I am disappointed in myself. Made it up to the Swedish sedan with a fresh carwash, though, on top of new plugs.

Six years today I got this little dingbat.

My ability to consistently cook the wrong amount of pasta is something to be celebrated, not shunned. I am an artist, not a monster.

Reckon it was about time to take my last ride of the season. I hope 2025 is a better year, for riding, and everything else.

It was a good day for a car wash. We don't have many of these left.

Never thought an NA Miata would pull a compliment as hard as "nice car, baby, I fuck with that shit!" but here we are.

He hates cars as much as I love them. Poor guy has a vet appointment today. Nothing major, just a routine checkup.

Some of the local Royal Enfield boys and I rode down to Northfield for some sandwiches on some backroads. Small Town America certainly isn't lacking for charm.

Minnesota requires front license plates, so I guess I'll play along... Installed this today, bled the rear brake on the Continental GT, and I'm not done yet! Gotta love a good night's sleep.

It was a day at the wrenches for me today. Finally installed that electronic ignition kit I'd been sitting on for a year. Starts and runs like a champ. Now she just needs new tires!

The weather shouldn't be this nice on the last day of January, but here we are...
