My time in the UK was productive: 32 #manuscript miscellanies, commonplace books, & unbound collections at the #BritishLibrary, the V&A, the U of Nottingham, the U of Leeds, & #HolkhamHall. I hope to be back in a year to see 2 I couldn’t see and 2 I want to spend more time with.

Today I worked in one of the libraries I'm visiting, U of Nottingham's Manuscripts & Special Collections. Today was about examining ink and bindings, both of which yielded exciting information for my research. Tomorrow I will be reading mss that will require more attention to the texts as well.

Day 2 in London featured a visit to the Victoria & Albert Museum followed by a leisurely walk through Knightsbridge, Hyde Park, and back to Bloomsbury. Tomorrow I’m off to Nottingham to work for the rest of the week. Can’t wait to be in the library!

I arrived in London a little after 6 am today and have valiantly stayed awake by hanging out at a cafe, walking to the Tate Modern, having lunch, watching a #ThaiBL, and having dinner. But I’m suddenly losing the battle but hope to stay up for another hour!

My question after watching some of the videos of #ThaiBL actors at Songkran is: how drunk were some of these guys? I’m starting to suspect it only counts as fan service if you’re sober.

Today I heard back from the British Library that I will be able to look at all the manuscripts I want to see next month AND I will be allowed to photograph them! I was shocked and very pleased by this! This is really going to move my research forward!
