After a quieter time at Spurn, spent my last evening watching waders on the falling tide. Bar t Godwit, Grey plover,Knot, Sanderling, Curlew Sand., Little Stint, Dunlin and Ringed Plover.

The only bird of note yesterday was an Icterine Warbler but only brief views. The Common Rosefinch was much more showy this morning. Unfortunately the light was poor for photos.

Just one bird of note at Spurn today, a Blyth's Reed Warbler in the nets,my second lifer of the year. (3 Bee-eater were still in the area)

With Turtle Dove and Glossy Ibis the best at Spurn yesterday with several spotted flycatchers around,0⁰9 this morning produced another Turtle Dove and very good views of 1 Bee-eater going south, unfortunately the 22 seen over Easington,decided not to come through Spurn.

Best bird of my first day at Spurn was this Temmincks Stint showing well on the wetlands.

Woodchat Shrike still in hedge by little Hendre farm at midday trying to keep out of the wind.

A good morning around Porthgwara my first cuckoo and house Martin,10 wheatear but the highlight was counting 230+ Red Kite fly through by 13.45.🙂🙂🙂

First lifer of the year with a Killdeer at Chapple Amble. To distant for good photo's, just happy to see it.🙂🙂🙂

My first trip of the year to Cornwall, a nice start with Lesser and Greater Scaup today.

Marsh Sandpiper at BHM Seaton. My 3rd lifer this year, showed well with Ruff,Little Stint and Wood Sandpiper to back it up.

Seawatching at porthgwara today 06.00 to 15.30. My total sightings for the day Sooty Shearwater 22 Cory Shearwater 10 Great Shearwater 5 Storm Petrel 106 Wilson's S. Petrel 14 Happy with my first Seawatch of the year.

Another good morning for Swifts at Spurn but topping these was a very showy Bee-eater at the Warren. Thanks Harry for letting me use your photo. (My photo is the crap one🤣🤣)

Decided to come to Spurn in July for a change,well worth it.5 sp.of tern in 1 day +lots of Little Gull. Topped off today with 3100+Swift. One of my bucket list fulfilled.

Disappointed the ortolan Bunting did a runner yesterday at Wykeham Forest, but did get distant views of Honey Buzzard and Goshawk+6 Nightjars and 2 Woodcock in the evening.

Went to Venford Reservoir today,first thing I saw was this Roe buck swimming across the middle of the reservoir

After 3 relatively quiet days in West Penwith,stopped at Marazion on the way home,Wood Sand,GWE and Garganey showed well but no sign of Savis.

Good flight views of the female Red footed Falcon at Predannack Down this afternoon.🙂🙂🙂

Common migrants have been slow at Portland,but waking up to see 2 ring ouzel outside the van and then my 5th Hoopoe for the year, with my first photos with its crest up has more than made up for that.🙂🙂🙂

Decided to go to West Penwith for Alpine Accentor today. Well worth the trip with brilliant views in the sun, 2nd lifer of the year. Great scenery as well.🙂🙂🙂

This is my 4th Hoopoe of the day this one at Rafta Farm. I could definitely get used to this.🙂🙂

Exminster marsh. Definatly 8 and probably 10 Little Ringed Plover, along back path and in front of the discovery area.

Quiet day on Exminster marsh today with no migrants, but was pleased to photograph a pair of kingfishers for the first time.

Finally got to see the long- billed Dowitcher on Exminster marsh, showing well by the end of the canal. Also the White fronted Goose by turf, unfortunately it didn't hang around for a photo.
