The puppies are now a week old and thriving in the care of their various dedicated fosters (kudos to them, doing feedings every couple of hours!) 💗

Mad day. A litter of newborn puppies had been rejected by their mum so the rescue organised a relay of volunteers to transport them halfway across the country to a shelter that could take them. We took the longest leg - Alsha drove 360 km while I bottle-fed nine (9!) 2-day-old pups in the backseat.

"How's it going with the kittens??" Well, there's three of them, it's insane, they're trying to destroy everything we own, one of them pees on things, the dog beds have been wrecked or appropriated. I love them so much 😹

Someone put up these wooden decoy wolves around a playground to deter Canada geese (poor optimistic fool - nothing deters Canada geese, they're demons) and my dog went straight up to each of them to say hello, WAY more politely than he does with dogs. Guess he found his people 😂

There's absolutely zero point buying any toys for kittens, it's a marketing scam. All you need is wadded-up bits of paper, sticks, and boxes. There's HOURS of entertainment to be found in a single box.

Flash, who is nearly 14, has reverted to full kitten mode since we got the trio. Racing around, playing with toys, having herself a blast. Not ~with~ the kittens, oh no! She's trying to prove that she's a better kitten than the 3 of them together & we can return them now. I love my crazy dragoncat.

Met the weirdest vet locum today. We're there for a check-in re: our dog's many anxiety drugs. Um - they were pretty normal words?

Today I performed minor butterfly surgery - one of our monarchs had got one of her wings twisted as she hatched and it ended up in tatters, preventing her from flying. I trimmed it and the matching wing to the same size and she flew perfectly 🥰 🦋🤩
