Exactly the same reason most of us accept the law of non-contradiction.

Lovely email this morning from a couple who read my "Why?" book out loud to each other. It's a good job my natural response to this kind of thing is just to show off on social media rather than start a cult.

When I carefully reflect, it strongly seems to me that there's more to *feeling* than behaving in a certain way, or having your parts behave in a certain way. If you agree, you're not a physicalist about consciousness.
