For my Minnesota following, Saturday snow has slowly been showing signs of shifting northwards. Most of this is now north of the Iowa border. Looks like a swath of 1-4" cutting through from western Minnesota to southeast Minnesota. Best chances of accumulation are north of US 14.

Seeing a clear section to watch for higher totals and it's lining up around US 30 to US20, especially along and east of I35 where a secondary surge of moisture is entering. Add in another wave from the west, it will try to keep that dry air mainly south of I80 tonight. #IAWX #Iowa

A multi-vehicle crash has closed I80 in both directions in Council Bluffs, IA Thursday evening. Traffic in both directions is at a standstill. An update to the 2025 Tornado Tally. It grows one to 32 tornadoes total for Iowa last year. All classified as weak tornadoes, we did have one in particular that was on the ground for near 20 miles and was over a mile wide! #IAWX #Tornadoes #Iowa

Why is the dye all concentrated in the center? The impurities of the dye make it harder to incorporate into the water's molecular structure when freezing. As the ice freezes, it does so from the outside in, forcing most of the dye inward to the center... before being the last to finally freeze!
