Today we were looking at different instructions and recipes and trying to spot any similarities from the layout of the texts📄

We were tasked to create a new ‘P5 Super-Survivor Plant’ to live in the rainforest🌴🌳 We focused on what adaptations we wanted our plants to have and why💫

With the help of the Mission Impossible theme tune, we magpied ideas from other people’s creations🍃

We have been looking at adaptation in the rainforest and designed our own “drip tip” leaves to help excess water run off🍃

We started writing wonderful Etheree poems today - focusing on a clear structure and a different numbers of syllables on each line🤩 Stay tuned for our finished masterpieces💫

To mark Remembrance Day we learnt all about the different poppies that people might wear and what they stand for. We then used our knowledge to create circle books about each of the poppies💫

Using our detective skills once more, we raced against the clock and worked in pairs to find as many of our common words as we could within the time set🕵🏼‍♀️📖

To mark #antibullyingweek we watched a short video of a boy struggling with being bullied. We then had a discussion as a class and wrote “messages” to the boy, checking in on him and asking if he was okay🫶🏼

We learnt a lot about The Gunpowder Plot this afternoon and then created colourful fireworks, matching them with onomatopoeia words🎆🎇💥

We worked hard today to box up our model text ready to innovate the story later in the week✍🏼🧠

We brushed up on our dictionary skills this morning to find lots of our common words that we’ve been learning over the last few weeks📖

We had a great time on Friday, playing Halloween bingo with our friends🎃

Using one-point perspective, we created wonderfully detailed Halloween drawings🎃 We focused and are so proud of our creations💫

We learnt all about different Scottish Myths and Legends this morning and created information posters about our favourite one🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Some were spooky and fit well with Halloween😱
