Big welcome to @LinhNguyen160, who completed her PhD training @hkust on development and function of myeloid cells in the zebrafish brain. She now applies her stellar imaging and genomic skills to dissecting spatiotemporal neutrophil behaviour in the gut. Funded by @The_MRC

We've had some incredible discussions at #Gmeet23. One of the main highlights was the need for a more comprehensive and standardized neutrophil nomenclature. So, in her talk today, Irina suggested the use transcription factors to define neutrophil subsets.

We are delighted to welcome Bruna Toledo @BrunaT69159, of the Vinolo lab @HostEpigenetics, who has been awarded a research internship from FAPESP Brazil to spend a year of her PhD at @UniofOxford studying the effect of treatment with antibiotics on systemic neutrophil responses.

Great presentation by @AbhiD23 today at the @KirOxford Internal Seminar on the transcriptional regulators of neutrophil maturation. This was followed by an exciting discussion on the pathways that might affect neutrophil differentiation. Excited to see what is next! #KirDataSci

Our student @capyBara_bs has truly enjoyed her stay in the labs of @PielMatthieu and @LennonLab. We are very excited about this collaboration and learning about the mechanical stimulation of macrophages. Big thanks to the host labs and @britsocimm for supporting Bara’s stay!

Congratulations to our own Kristina Zec, a @VersusArthritis Foundation fellow, who redefined the function of lining synovial macrophages in articular inflammation - see retweet on our JEM paper below. More to come from this study - watch the space!

Our PhD student @capyBara_bs represented the group at the @ImmunoBiophys EMBO workshop this week. Grateful that she received the conference travel grant to discuss her project in which she’s investigating the synovial macrophages and how their environment affects their function.
