Holocaust denial is a crime. Calling out genocidal actions by the Israeli state is being framed as a crime against Jews. Arab people (Muslim or Christian) can be victims too - and it should be a crime to deny what is happening to them! History will not look kindly on us.

So... pro-Palestinian marches attended by large numbers of Jews are 'anti-Semitic' yet the only Jewish leader of a British political party being told not to play the anti-semitism card in a media interview and raising a smirk when he speaks of a right wing activist nazi-saluting him is okay.

If it is wrong to attack Jews for being Jewish, is it not also wrong to attack Palestinians for not being? Jewish lives in Britain and abroad are precious. So are Muslim and Christian lives in Palestine - Arabs, Asians, Africans, Latinos, first nation peoples (and whites) ...throughout the world.

I stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine against the racist oppression of the zionist Israeli state. But I also stand 100% with the Jewish community against racist violence and abuse. No one in the UK should face discrimination of any kind purely because of their ethnicity or religion.

There's a lot of pearl-clutching around the Green Party leader taking to social media to question the behaviour of police officers in the arrest of the Golders Green attacker. And I get that. A more experienced political leader would have taken a more circumspect approach. He has since apologised.

Predictably, the gov't response to the latest anti-Jewish violence is to clamp down on pro-Palestinian (anti-zionist) protests. Can they not recognise that just as not all Jews support the genocidal behaviour of the Israeli government, so not all pro-Palestinian voices are radicalised Islamists!

The events in Golders Green andsimilar attacks in recent months remind me of happenings during WW2, when anyone with a German-sounding name faced threats of violence - even those who were refugees from the Nazi regime. We need to be reminded that being Jewish is not synonymous with being a Zionist.

Apparently 523 were arrested yesterday under anti-terrorism laws for carrying placards at a peaceful protest in supported of pro-Palestinian group Palestine Action, whom the counts have ruled should not be a proscribed organisation. Meanwhile our government continues to supply arms...

Many of my LGBTQIA+ friends have experienced this. Churches may say they are welcoming and inclusive, but LGBTQIA+ people know to be cautious. It’s not the language that’s tricky. It’s how people use it.

I am not just another piece of data to feed into your systems of control and manipulation. I am a human being with my own personal dignity and integrity and I will resist every attempt to take that away from me whenever and wherever I can, while defending the basic humanity of those around me.

I am beginning to realise that the only way out of the heartless politics of empire lies in grassroots community activism - practical steps to create a more equal, just & compassionate society from the ground up. For too long we have abdicated that responsibility to the state, but it doesn't work!

America may be one of our oldest and closes allies. But that does not mean we have to support or even acquiesce when their actions are clearly wrong! Harold Wilson refused to be drawn into the Vietnam War and the world did not fall apart. Starmer needs to grow a backbone and stand up to Trump...

Can Keir Starmer survive a second scandal over his judgement in appointing inappropriate (and now discredited) supporters to the House of Lords. One such 'oversight' would be regrettable, two can barely be understood as anything less than negligence and complicity. The country deserved better!

It appears to me that there are many things behind the current state-sponsored reign of terror in Minnesota and elsewhere in the US. But it seems no coincidence that mid-term elections are on the horizon. Expect things to get worse as the regime strives to deter voters from exercising their rights.
