ICE is denying a detained woman surgery that doctors say she urgently needs. Let’s be clear: putting someone’s health at risk is not law and order. It’s cruelty. This is why we need real solutions, so real people aren’t forced into cruel, dangerous situations by a broken system.

ICE has gone too far. It is time to abolish it and build an immigration system that is consistent with our values. That means a path to citizenship for Dreamers, TPS beneficiaries and longtime residents. It also means fixing our broken legal immigration system and holding bad actors accountable.

Gas was $2.55 in Texas in early February. Now it’s $4.52. That’s nearly $2 more a gallon because of Trump’s war with Iran, and working Texans are the ones paying the price at the pump. Texans need lower costs, not another reckless war, making life more expensive.
