If there's one thing im worried about, it's my current reach at the moment. Although I dont like it, the primary goal for Stardust Trail is to make some money. Namely, to fund the development of my other project. To add to that, im also worried about the runtime of the game.

Ok so something I've been thinking about with Stardust Trail's battle system is whether I should use the current "3 Arts and T.A" layout, or a scrollable menu with arts based on the enemy you're fighting. And maybe other actions? #GameDev #Godot #NeedInputOnThis

Some dumb stuff with SSL certificates. Despite the server having updated certificates, it keeps using the old ones for mail related stuff and I dunno why.

Realized I can make enemies use more aggressive attack patterns when at low health, among other things. The Crystalis enemy is programed now to only avoid using DMode Attacks in the beginning Fallows area, as well as avoid its low health attack pattern. #GameDev #Godot #StardustTrail

New inventory menu is now fully implemented. There are some performance issues when it comes to loading item entries in other languages currently though... #GameDev #Godot #StardustTrail

For some reason you can discard items while in a battle... I don't know how useful that is but you can do it since I don't have a flag to disable that option or the order option...

Finished the basic display method for the inventory, just need to add discard, order, and use functionality both in and out of battle. As well as stress testing it to make sure there are no oddities. #GameDev #Godot #StardustTrail

Mostly spent my winter break relaxing / doing some stuff on the side. First thing I've started on after the break is the new Inventory menu. This uses the custom construct UI system I made a while back. #GameDev #Godot #StardustTrail

If there is one thing I want to come back to, it is the Azure Crater region south of The Kingdom of Cerelia. I really like the idea of this giant crater with a solidified crystal splash of sorts.

Taking this week off mostly, and in the meantime attempting to 100% Ace Combat 7. Currently I only need to defeat all named aces and then collect a few mission specific medals as well as the ones for completion under 4 hours and using your on-board cannon only. Can't wait for Ace combat 8!

Got a good idea for stardust trails main theme

Been experimenting more with Godot and with 4.6 I'm actually considering if we should switch over to it over UE5. The only thing blocking that would be the time needed to redo everything and Godot not really having an accessible PS5 platform template.

Added controller prompts, though only for the PS at the moment using Unicode characters.

Currently reworking the item / inventory system, and maybe the status screen as well. After that's done I'm gonna finally implement the equipment screen and then work on the third fallows room, which should prolly be the final level to work on for what I have in mind for a full demo build.

The next Ace Combat game will absolutely be revealed in less than a year from now.

added a basic save management system + the ability to have multiple slots. you can only save to whatever slot you loaded in though so to change save slots you'll have to restart the game. #Godot #GameDev

Ok so for with our in house engine, I was thinking of possibly adding DX12 support later for when we port the engine to Xbox, but since we're using SDL3 for PC thats now redundant.
