I love Ronno going wild on 'The Width Of a Circle' on this. Some player, the best he ever had, and he had some really good players on his albums and live bands.

R.E.M live at The Olympia Great performance and setlist, but the cd is compressed to fuck to the point of distortion. Thanks (once again) Jacknife Lee for making good music barely listenable.

One of my favourite albums ever. Absolutely love this record from Macca. The UK first press sounds incredibly dynamic and vivid.

This is really the ultimate late night record, but it's on the deck on Friday morning. 'No One Cares' by Frank New cart on the LP12 last week, and this sounds just stunning.

More early Banshees. A half great album, that could have matched the debut if they'd had a couple more songs ready. Still don't know why they never used 'Make Up ,Break Up' from the live set and 'The Scream' demos. That was a great song. Maybe they didn't like it at the time.

There are a lot of gems on this complete recordings boxed set from Frank Black & The Catholics. A fair amount of unremarkable but pleasant chugging indie guitar rock too as heard a bit too much on Pixies post reformation albums.

50p out the charity. Excellent cd by the 'Dave Holland Quartet' on ECM. Don't know the saxophonist Steve Coleman, guitarist Kevin Eubanks, nor drummer Martin Smith, but they are all superb.

Iggy and Bowie collaborate again Not anywhere near as good asThe Idiot or Lust For Life, but still a fine album that, once again, rejuvenated Iggy's career.
