It’s true. The packaging is adorable. But also functional. It has the dev chart printed on the inside of every box.

Why is Kiki Pan packaging so adorable? It's my friend's 13 year old daughter Tanisha's project. Kiki is her beloved cat. Please repost here and on other social media to raise awareness!

As a former knifemaker, this is the second* most dangerous knife (to its user) that I've ever seen. It makes me angry just looking at it.

I'm way too dependent on my vision. If there are problems like myopia, presbyopia, migraine, irritation etc. everything stops. Transportation, hobbies, social media, video, and my ability to work all go away.

Pagani Design PD-YS034 is a beast. It's probably the best watch they've made and I've seen quite a few. While I'd recommend it, don't rush out to buy one before you've read the Alt text and all the replies in the thread.

Little •prototype• lens re-housing. I had an Yashica T2 that I was unable to repair so I pulled the Carl Zeiss Tessar 35mm T* lens from within it's depths I added an aperture and a too-long hood all mounted to a m39 body cap Fixed focus, f11-ish. I hope to print a better housing in the future

The Watchdives Seafarer WD1967Q is based on the classic mid-60s Omega Seamaster 300 Reference 165.024. It's modernized and made practical shrinking from 41mm to 39mm, with a VH31 sweep seconds quartz movement, modern lume and an Oyster style bracelet. I paid $125, shipped.

My Tudor Submariner ref.79090 looks and feels really good on this aftermarket bracelet. The balance is right too. I spent some time buffing to get it to look and feel right. But it's not bad for a $20 Chinese strap and it'll do till I find an original one.

The TAG Heuer CG1110-0 Quartz Chronograph was a personal grail since I was a kid. It epitomizes late 80s to 90s styling with its soft organic shapes and small watch head with short lug-lug distance. I got this from

at a very reasonable price.

It's been years since I developed film. I tested the bottle of Supergrain developer that had been opened mid COVID and wasn't sure it would do much so I souped at 27°C "cold tap" rather than chilled for 6 mins. Turns out dev was fine 🤷 and pushed it a few stops. Anyhow, I'm excited.

Uh oh, looks like I've started unconsciously influencing staff, peers and local friends into buying luxury watches, often similar models to mine. That means it's time to switch to obsure brands and unloved vintage models. Loving the sparkly wrist roll on this Omega though.

Oh no! I'm developing model preferences (more like collector fetishes) for different Omega Seamaster Professional watches. That's like waking up and going "Hmm, the FM2N is really a better camera for the price, but the FM3A is better when you're under pressure." It's finincially ruinous.

Comparing the Rolex 216570 to the Tudor 79470. The visuals say it all. But then the Rolex costs 2-3x as much as the Tudor new and 4x second hand. The Tudor Black Bay Pro is a good watch but won't scratch the itch if you wanted an Explorer II.

With today's temperatures, you are going to need a tropical developer in England. Ilford will also need to publish dev times going up to 38°C.

Watch size vs wrist size. I have a 7 1/4" inch wrist. My ideal case diameter is 40.5mm, but it all depends on the watch, what clothes I'm wearing with it and what I'm using it for. Also, how the watch lugs and bracelet drapes. See Alt text for details and examples.

I lost my friend Tonchi almost 2yrs ago now & was given the opportunity by his family to acquire some cameras. I chose the ones I knew he loved & used himself. I miss my friend above everything - the quiet walks we took in Granville Island, and the boisterous discussions we had in his living room.

I lost my camera TWICE and chose to leave it (safety first) but the DM fetched it saying "if you leave it a few mins, someone will zip by in a boat and salvage it." So I said "Fine, I'll pay you PHP1,000 for a recovery to compensate you and teach myself lesson." See ALT

Nice watch. Slim, elegant, fits under a cuff and has the Powermatic 80 elaboré movement with 80 hours of power reserve so you can knock off work, slip into your weekend watch and it'll still be running on Monday morning.

Even just this past year for film, honestly. I’ve been finding it hard to buy, just because it feels so inflated. My local has $50 rolls of Fuji and now Ilford is approaching $20. Fine, but listen, photography is almost entirely a practice of failing. Lol.

I went looking for a UV blocking shirt and got sold a $200 wetsuit. It's a front zip two-piece with no sleeves. Now I look at it, I just need a takedown recurve bow, a fishing rod, banjo and guitar and we could reshoot Deliverance.
