We welcome the Council's unanimous decision to finalise the full entry of Bulgaria and Romania into the Schengen Area as of 1 January 2025. The EPP has championed this cause from the very start. This is another step towards a robust Schengen Area and EU integration.

EPP Finance Ministers met in Brussels ahead of today's ECOFIN Council. They discussed on the economic situation in the member-states & the economic and financial impact of the Russia's continuous aggression against Ukraine.

The new @ec.europa.eu takes over on 1 December! With the leadership of Ursula von der Leyen and a strong team of commissioners, EPP will work hard to improve the prosperity of our citizens, the growth of our economies, and the security of our continent. Let’s get started! 🇪🇺

🟠 Today we #OrangeTheWorld! Globally, almost one in three women have been a victim of physical and/or sexual violence at least once in their life. Every 10 minutes, a woman is killed.  We cannot tolerate this! #ViolenceAgainstWomen must end!

Today, former 🇺🇦 President Petro Poroshenko delivered a poignant address to our delegates, vividly describing the devastation of war in Ukraine. A moment of silence was observed to honour over 1,000 days of unjust conflict and the countless innocent lives lost.

Our President Manfred Weber, alongside PN President Bernard Grech, has officially kicked off the event here in Malta, warmly welcoming delegates and setting the tone for two days of engaging discussions.

The agreement on a new Migration & Asylum Pact is a major breakthrough to protect our external borders, break smugglers' networks & offer solidarity to EU's frontline states. It is also a vindication for the EPP as we have chanpioned the need for a robust 🇪🇺 migration policy.

At the EPP Summit, leaders discussed Russia's aggression against Ukraine, the situation following the attack on Israel, EU enlargement policy, the revised Long-Term Budget 2021-2027, and security and defense issues.

According to the United Nations, more than 5 women are killed every hour by someone in their own family. Almost 1 in 3 women have been subjected to physical and/or sexual violence at least once in their life. Our message must be clear. Violence against against women will never be accepted.

Shocking violence & unrest in Dublin last night, perpetrated by those who shamelessly took advantage of a tragedy. Our thoughts are with the victims of the stabbing & the shaken community. Our support is with the gardaí who did their job to protect citizens & restore order.

EPP Ministers for European and Foreign Affairs, led by Karoline Edtstadler, convened in Brussels ahead of the General Affairs Council. Productive discussions took place on the rule of law, key agenda items for the upcoming EUCO, and pressing matters such as migration and enlargement.

Today, Donald Tusk and those who fought for democracy and the rule of law in Poland have signed a coalition agreement that commits to restoring the legal order and improving the lives of citizens. A clear defeat of populism and return of hope for both Poland and Europe.

On the eve of Kristallnacht, we remember the horrors of the past and stand strong against antisemitism and all forms of hatred. #NeverAgainIsNow, these are not empty words but proof of our commitment to a united, tolerant and respectful Europe.

The fall of the Berlin Wall 34 years ago stands as a reminder that unity can overcome all barriers. We celebrate the victory of democracy and liberty over authoritarianism and tyranny. And we continue to fight for a united and free Europe against those who seek to divide us.

An important step in the right direction! We welcome the Commission's adoption of the 2023 Enlargement Package and look forward to an equally positive outcome from the December EUCO.

Over the past 3 decades, 1.600 journalists have been killed while doing their job. According to UNESCO, in only 1 out of 10 cases have those responsible faced justice. We must all protect the independent press & end impunity for crimes against journalists.

Leaders at the EPP Summit are addressing crucial issues, including Hamas’ recent attack on Israel, migration, strategies for a stronger European economy, and the ongoing situation in Ukraine.
