Yesterday, the UK Government recognised a Palestinian state. The Palestinian people have an inalienable right to self-determination, and Palestinians and Israelis have the right to live their lives in peace, free from violence and suffering.

It was fantastic to visit Chilwell School today and speak with the head about plans for rebuilding the school, how they support neurodiverse students and get a grilling from year 11 prefects!

Today, I met the Chief Executive of the ICB and I raised the issue of access to NHS dentists in Broxtowe as a whole, and how NHS dentistry is commissioned here. I am hopeful that our discussions will bear fruit and will keep you up to date with any local developments.

High Street Rental Auctions are a new power granted to local authorities to require landlords to rent out persistently vacant commercial properties. This will help end the blight of empty shopfronts and revitalise Eastwood high street.

It was lovely to catch up with Michelle Towler who came to Parliament for a tour today. It was great to get an update on her work as an ambassador for Cancer Research and the vital work she is doing with Epilepsy Action to raise awareness and promote understand of epilepsy.

Many constituents who have been affected by changes to the Boots Pension Scheme have reached out to me. I am having active discussions with the Pensions Minister and I am closely monitoring this case. I'll continue to keep you updated on developments with this case.

Labour is investing £500 million into rolling out over 1000 Best Start Family Hubs to provide wide-ranging help for families, such as parenting and early development. Children growing up in Broxtowe deserve the best possible start in life. That is what Labour are delivering.

We are long overdue reform of our SEND system. This week, I was glad to attend a roundtable with Outcomes First Group to discuss how we can make SEND provision is more inclusive, effective, and sustainable for the local authorities.

I'd like to extend a huge thank you to the Broxtowe constituents who came to speak to me in Parliament today about the impact climate change is having on our area and the actions we need to take to protect our environment.

I’m really pleased to see the Government is taking early years seriously, announcing a new Best Start Family Service this week. In order to break down barriers to opportunity, we must see dedicated outreach to more deprived areas so the support reaches those who need it most.

I was pleased to chair a productive meeting of the APPG for the Caribbean. Conversations included trade and economic relations between the UK and English speaking Caribbean.

30% of people in UK prisons are diagnosed with dyslexia, and likely many more who are undiagnosed. Today I raised this with the Justice Minister and asked how the Government supports dyslexic people in prison and after release to prevent reoffending.

No one who is going through the heartbreak of pregnancy loss should have to go back to work before they are ready. This Labour government is introducing a day-one right to protected time off work, with time away from work to grieve. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
