I have mixed feeling about watching the upcoming conclusion to Good Omens both in light of the allegations against Neil Gaiman, and because of my beef with the 2nd season which seemed undo the character development of the 1st. I wonder what dear old Terry Prachett would make of all this :/

Picked up Prophet not knowing anything other than that it was sci-fi anomalously co-authored by @hjm.bsky.social whose nature-writing I've long been a fan of. To my delight it also happened to be packed with the kind of queer yearning that often necessitated smacking the book against a pillow.

I really wanted to like The Other Bennet Sister, but I'm not 20 minutes in and some of the decisions made around costuming, casting, and changes to the characters' personalities are just atrocious and just pulling me out of it.

I was pleased to learn this year that lilac flowers are edible. This meant, of course, that I had to make lilac cordial. It was ready in time to be paired with churro rhubarb cupcakes and birthday festivities.
