After speculation that the South Gare Bluethroat could possibly be one of the eastern races I decided to try to get a faecal sample & ask if Martin Collinson was interested in testing. The culprit was caught red handed.

A candidate juvenile Baltic Gull on Parton Rocks, Hartlepool this morning. Very contrasty look & long winged. 6 primary tips showing & lots of white on the underwing both good fuscus features. Dont think they can be done safely in the field though.
