Concerts in the next month: A Great Big Pile Of Leaves, Foxing, The Hotelier & Halloween, Alaska. Labels get tossed about (indie pop/rock, Midwest emo, art rock, post-rock, electronic) but all have a non-zero amount of “math rock” defined by my friends as “weird music shit that Ryan geeks out on”.

Jetting off to New York to see A Great Big Pile Of Leaves play their first show in 8 years. Midwest emo from Connecticut at the old Northsix in Williamsburg. Just learned that they have a Minnesota connection. The late great Ed Ackerson produced their 2013 album “You’re Always On My Mind”.
