It's often said that the Post Office Tower (now BT Tower) was redacted from maps in the 60s and 70s because it was an 'official secret' (despite being one of London's tallest buildings). It's not true, as the marvellous 'Secret Maps' exhibition at the British Library shows (OS map from 1965).
