“You’re really sweetening the deal. I can handle the fanning, but the sunscreen?” She paused, smiling. “I’ll need your help with that. I do burn easily.” A bottle of sunscreen levitated its way in front of him.

“AWOOOGA!” Jean said with a big grin, levitating the bowl of grapes over to him. She was never very subtle about her attraction to Scott. “Let’s go get some tan lines, handsome.”

“You know of all the people whose minds I’d like to explore, yours is at the bottom of the list.” Jean smirked. “You would make a great grape-feeder though.”

“That’s great news! It’s a step in the right direction for her too.” Jean said with a smile. “These abilities we have are both a gift and a burden.” She paused, thinking for a moment. “We should do something for the students. Maybe a pool party?”

Jean grinned, considering his use of the term for a moment. “I’d say you are, but really anyone could be a simp of mine. Comes with the territory of my abilities really.” She put her hands on her hips. “Do kitty cats such as yourself like grapes?” Jean teased.

“Yeah but he’d do whatever I asked, whenever I asked. Getting you to do it would be more fun.” She smiled warmly at here, before wiggling her fingers again. “How about we feed each other grapes then? Equal exchange?”

Her urge to become a mother is… Growing.

“Hmmf. SOMEONE around here would love to do it, I’m sure.” Jean smiled at him warmly, though her hunt for a grape-feeder certainly was not over. “What’s the latest with you Hank? Any new breakthroughs in your studies?”

Jean pretends to hypnotize the reader. “Oooo you want to feed me grapes as I lay by the pool, ooOOoooo…” She wiggled her fingers at the reader, a big smile on her face.

“Wha- Hey it was just a question!” She called after him, shaking her head a bit as she stopped using her powers, allowing bystanders to see and hear herself and Peter again.

“If I wanted to slurp down sauce, I’d eat pasta.” Jean explained, before pointing a finger at him. Of course he liked Chicago style. “There is no way you wrote that down.” She snatched his notepad, reading that from 9-5, that was the only thing written down. Naturally. …

“Phoenix gone wild 7?” Her grin grew as she could tell he was a bit embarrassed at conjuring the mental image for her. “Here, let me see if I can try something.” She placed her other hand on the side of his head, changing the mental image of her dancing to be more accurate. …

“At least you weren’t thinking of Chicago style, with pineapple on top.” She shook her head a little bit. “Then you’d be in some serious trouble. I’ll forgive your poor taste for now, but you’re on thin ice mister!” She teased before continuing. “What’s on your agenda today anyway?”

Jean closed her eyes, focusing on his brainwaves and conjuring up the mental image he had in her own mind. A big smile crossed her face, along with a light blush. “Oh. OH! This is so good. I’ve never tried that one before. Did you see that in a rap video?” She opened one eye to look at him.

“The pineapple, Kurt!” She shivered in disgust, imagining the mixture of salty and sweet. “Pizza is meant to be salty only. That’s just how it is.”

“Not just the pizza, what’s ON the pizza.” She opened her mouth and stuck out her tongue before pointing a finger to her open mouth and pretending to gag. “There is no way that tastes good.”

Jean tapped her chin for a moment, pretending to think to herself. She knew exactly where she learned that move. “I might have done a little snooping. Hard to help it really. Try picturing me doing a different dance, this is good practice.” She pressed two fingers to her temple, concentrating.

“Kurt, your thoughts go a little bit BEYOND kissing.” She shook her head, her smile growing. “That dance I’m doing in there?” She gestured to his temple. “How’d you know I knew that move?”

Clueless pedestrians continued to pass by, oblivious to their conversation. “Exactly. Not to pry, but you do have a fairly extensive dating history, don’t you?” She asked, curious to learn more about him. Peter was the kind of hero to have a lot of rumors spread about him after all.

She’s reading the reader’s mind, again. Jean shakes her head a little, the corners of her lips resisting a full blown smile. “How is it that everytime I take a peek in there, you’re thinking about THAT?”

“Hm?” She cocked her head to the side, pretending to not know exactly what he was thinking. It was a talent, but also a bit of a curse. “What is this more than the equivalent of two co-workers having water cooler talk?” She could read him like a book, even without her powers.

“More of the usual really. I’ve finally settled more into my role as a teacher for fellow mutants, so that’s been nice.” Jean paused, tapping her foot as clueless people continued to walk around them. “Scott and I are taking a break, so that’s pretty new.” She watched him, gauging his response.

Jean smiled slightly, this was good news. “Good. Not good that it’s a situationship, but good that you don’t have a harem.” She considered what he said for a moment longer. “So you’re essentially single but still have a deep connection with her? Is that the case?”

Jean raised an eyebrow at this, placing her hands on her hips. It was incredibly tempting for her to take a peek inside his mind and see what he really meant. “Don’t tell me. Spider harem?” She asked, only half joking. Peter did have a sort of reputation.

“I heard about that latest clone fiasco you had to deal with. You must be the most cloned person in the entire city.” She smiled at him, pretending that she hadn’t read his mind just moments prior. “Shoot, I forgot.” She closed her eyes for a moment, and Peter felt a rush of energy course …

Jean initially hadn’t noticed Peter in the crowded city streets of New York City. But that soon changed when his ‘creative’ brainwaves were picked up. She looked around, soon spotting him. No one else thought about webs and women like that. “Peter, wait up!”

Running her hands through his hair, she returned the kiss, albeit a little more eagerly than a ‘charity event’ normally would feature. When she leaned back, her lipstick left a very visible mark on his lips. “Oops.” She smiled, before speaking again. “Is there a rule on multiple donations?”

“All spiders have a thing for redheads, it comes with the territory.”
