When loneliness comes dressed as love, and I’ve been cold enough

perhaps it doesn’t take much to get close to my heart

fall is a delicate time, the soft often taken by the sky

soul to soul, I wanted to speak but you faded away, far too quick

I would leave without a trace, but this art I must engrave

when it comes to Love I have only ever fallen into and never out of still humming soft echoes from melodies before waiting to sing even more of the music I’ll always hold

falling like a leaf, I don’t yearn to be caught in my descent, I simply hope to be noticed, before it all ends

when your hands grow tired pass the brush onto me and I’ll pass it back to you when my inspiration is through but no matter who paints let’s make sure the art remains

you touch me in ways that make me seek warmth again

I took the scroll of time and unfolded it to mere paper all the love laid before me nothing to search for later

everything we could do possibly, to leave footprints as soft as can be

what I will become I do not know, I am only here being as I know

soft as a cloud, I drifted by still you had no space in your sky

the ritual, drawing on eyeliner, lipstick sharpening my gaze softened only when your eyes meet mine melting into time

in your sky, accept the offering of my light

I am somewhere between the question you don’t ask and the answer I long to express

this time I thought it’d be different, that I’d learn to be indifferent but as the leaves are slowly leaving me, I am still weeping

the thoughts you quieted are the ones that should absolutely be said

on this ocean, every word has already been written describing the depths of the waves, and their rhythm the colours and the hues, and their vastness too the only thing that has not been written is you through your reflection, the ocean yearns to be expressed too

I need soft, and softer slow and slower piano, pianissimo for you to come close then even closer to read my notes and how they flow to play me the way I am meant to unfold

you taught me how to think in poetry, how to speak in music, how to breathe more deeply

we may not cross ways often but knowing you are on the same path makes my world soften

I was love as a raindrop, I was love as a pond And I will be love as an ocean, and depths beyond

can you wait while I unfold these layers I want to wear you later

the world said I needed to be a closed book but I wanted to be open pages for you to come look

on this path, neither time is a measure nor distance just the peace we paved and the love we witnessed

you need to go on a stroll with me, we need to walk through the leaves, and hear the trees breathe

and when I spill my soul would you hold up your hands as if to collect the sands before they slip again

I am not interested in the house Through which the light flows Or in the walls that separate The rooms that it holds And to look at the light I am not looking through windows I am focused on the Sun alone The feeling of its sacred warmth

don’t be the tree, who forgets she is the tree, upon the departure of her leaves

glimpses of the light, catching you in sight

the way Fall makes me feel more at home, whether I am broken or whole

it is not to the silence that my ears have attuned it is to the prospect of hearing you

touch me delicately like raindrops in motion, until you become one with my ocean

I have the trees to observe, the raindrops to absorb, I am not alone anymore

Art is one way I know to get closer to the soul, but I also want to know how you open that door

there is not much I want to do with the words but to collect them like petals and place them in your world to fall from the clouds like rain sending you softness again and again

season after season I watch the trees full, falling, fallen and life goes by like this observing their beauty this is all I need

if I could, I would sink further into my solitude but I don’t want to drift further from you too

if the answer is not undoubtedly and wholeheartedly Love, I don’t want to ask the questions anymore

I was fine, until the rain touched me Then I remembered how I missed it

in the emptiness, the space I saved for me to bloom I grew flowers for you for petals you did not hold onto

can I keep my heart here with you for a while?

it is strange when a cloud drifts on by when I am used to the emptiness of the sky

it takes a lot sometimes to keep alight this candle of mine sometimes I do look at the sky sometimes I do venture outside catch glimpses of the light but when day comes to an end I am quick to come inside again for I cannot let this candle burn out again, to it I must tend

the eyes show too much truth, but I want you to look into mine

I am only a flower too and I also bloom when I am touched by you

I want to take a thousand words to tell you my story, though I could speak just one word and you would come to know me
