PT 🚌 or parking 🅿️ - which do we subsidize💸 more? Costs to build a parking spot can be $20k, then there are costs of the land and such. This is a question - I don't have the answer. There are 6 to 8 parking spots per car, and in many cases these spots are provided free - i.e., 100 % subsidized.

As a regular transit user, as a single, with a friend/colleague, or even as a family, RARELY do the 4 seats facing each other make sense and just end up being used infrequently at full capacity.

A huge part of children not being active and playing is that traffic danger limits their freedom. Kids want to play with other kids in real life. If kids can walk and bike places, they meet up and play more because they aren’t reliant on their parents’ free time.

I’ve done many surveys on speed people think is safe. They typically reply with the speed limit of their residential streets. Then we’d show the likelihood of death by speed. The VAST majority want under 30 km/h. They ASSUMED that 50 km/h considered safety for humans. Glad to see more safe cities.

If you don’t get out to socialize, you’ll likely have more difficulty understanding points of view different than your own, and you simply won’t be as happy. I’d suggest that part of the problem is car-based development, Internet entertainment and Amazon.
