Started Christmas shopping today because Thanksgiving continues to be late in November and there is just not enough time.

Hubs and I are DIY types, but we also both work 40+ hours per week and know our limits. We needed a deck redone and hired it out. We wondered if it was the right thing to do. They're on day three of working on this and almost done. It would've been a full summer of weekends for us to get this far.

Last night was our first hot pot of the season. Leftover ingredients were turned into beef wrapped enoki mushrooms - dinner tonight. Tomorrow night, the broth, tofu, and Napa cabbage leftovers from the hot pot get turned into homemade ramen. Whew!

We've hit five and I'm just about home.

On the bus and am counting homes/apartments that we pass where there is a visible Christmas tree up. We're up to three so far. (Point of clarification: not judging. Things are not great right now so doing something to bring joy is lovely.)

MD to me today: it's so good to have you back. I'm so enjoying being back in your company. I had a PA friend once tell me that if I find a place where I'm treated like a human, stay there. I think of that often. It's why I suffer my commute: I get to work with people who I genuinely like/respect.

It hurts. But I had so much fun watching this Mariners team this year and nobody can take that away from me. What a run it was.

Lol of course there will be a game seven. Why wouldn't there be. It's only natural. Maybe it'll be another fifteen inning marathon, too. WHY NOT.

Evening. Post vaccine fatigue means udon with tofu and veggies and watching Little Shop of Horrors.

I was pretty bummed by the way NaNoWriMo ended (it was deserved, I was sad about the loss of that history and the support) so to see it come back...perhaps without the BS that sank the original...has me a little hopeful. Cautious...but hopeful.

I had a house panther, who was my heart cat. She was sweet and friendly. Just wanted to be in the room with people, hanging out. When I recover down the road from her death - I'm not there yet - I'm getting another one. If you're in the market for a cat, consider a black cat. The best personalities.

I love baseball. The superstition levels are unreal. People talking about watching last night's game at a different bar so they're going back to the old one, people making sure they wear the right jersey, people eating at a specific restaurant. I love it. Because I fit right in.

A couple of years ago, I got an inflatable unicorn costume for Halloween and I've kept it since. Hubs was like maybe we donate it and I said no, I'll find a use for it someday. Someday is finally here.

Mariners keep winning. Seahawks won. Huskies won. Ducks lost. I will never have this type of sports weekend again. But I'm so glad I got to live through it because my God, what a time to be alive for a Seattle sports fan.
