A multi-stakeholder panel discussed a recent EMA-IMS-EHA survey on the attitudes of clinicians and regulators on MRD as an efficacy endpoint in myeloma, nuances of US & EU perspectives, & transplant-eligibility for patient stratification. #IMS25

Josefine Krüger, MD, IMS Riney CD Awardee, identified a previously unknown cereblon-independent mechanism of proteasomal degradation of IKZF1 (Ikaros) transcription factor, a key target of immunomodulatory drugs. #IMS25

With support from the Paula and Rodger Riney Foundation, the IMS has now funded 89 Translational and Career Development Awards, totaling $16 million over the past 5 years, in 66 Institutions across 25 countries. --Bobby Sandage, Jr, PhD #IMS25

Mala Shanmugam, PhD, IMS Riney TR Awardee, spoke about the impact of elevated heme exposure on modulation of T cell behavior and the balance between exhaustion and effector memory/terminally differentiated phenotypes. #IMS25

Andrew Yee, MD, asked: Does one size fit all? He was contextualizing the early efficacy seen with an ixazomib-daratumumab quadruplet in older frailer transplant-ineligible/-deferred patients with myeloma. #IMS25

With the publication of the IMS-IMWG consensus genomic staging of high-risk multiple myeloma, Jill Corre, PharmD, PhD, said, “we have the opportunity to speak the same language when it comes to high genomic risk in myeloma.” #IMS25

Guido Lancman, MD, called attention to the complexity and multifactorial reasons underlying infection risk in myeloma. He was on an expert panel that shared insights on evolving strategies for mitigating treatment-associated infection risk. #IMS25

Roberto Mina, MD, spoke about strategies for optimizing bispecific antibody therapies. He, along with the panel, explored ways to optimize post-quadruplet consolidation and maintenance and the potentially curative impact of CAR-T in RRMM. #IMS25

Bertrand Arnulf, MD, PhD, described survival outcomes with ide-cel in the largest European real-world experience, in Super-FENIX, an IFM study of the Descar-T Registry. #IMS25

Can post-transplant disease control in high-risk patients be improved with combination maintenance therapy? Ajay Nooka, MD, and colleagues are seeking to answer this in a belantamab combination maintenance trial in high-risk NDMM. #IMS25

Newer immunotherapies are piercing through all phases of myeloma treatment-from induction to maintenance. Adam Cohen, MD, shared data from the STEM trial of cevostamab, as consolidation therapy, in patients who received BCMA CAR-T. #IMS25

Successive MRD assessments can help individualize risk prediction in patients with NDMM, according to longitudinal MRD analysis in the CASSIOPEIA study, shared by Anna Smit. #IMS25
