My students are learning bioinformatic analysis and making sweet, sweet plots. It is so fun to see filters you collected for several years finally come to life. So impressed!

I echo how dire the situation is regarding science funding. The worst for those early career trying to get started. It also isn’t for lack of trying. I have two submitted grants still pending from August 2025. Clicking on the OG post, the numbers getting funded are just dismal.

Anyone know what happens to grants that DO have some of those "list words" in them? I submitted a grant in July 2024, which does for sure have some of those words in the mandated-at-the-time broader impact section. It currently sits still pending.
