I've spent this weekend crocheting a pair of thick socks from my Lottie & Albert Curate Crochet Box. They're mostly cream with green highlights on the toe or heel and cuffs. They're made using Drops Fiesta yarn, which is 75% wool and 25% polyamide. I need to wear thin socks with them because wool!

Last night I spent a good couple of hours outlining the novel I've already started writing and it helped me work out how some of the events that need to happen are going to happen. I also doryed out a couple of the major subplots, and gave my main character a nervous breakdown. Twice.

I went to TT88 gallery on Friday to do some writing. I didn't get any writing done, but I did have a meeting about the library we've inherited. I'm going to be a sort of 'curator' of the books, cataloguing them and then finding ways to take them out into the community and do writing workshops.

I'm working on my first crochet cardigan. I've made jumpers and hoodies before but this is my first attempt at a cardigan. I'm making up the pattern as I go along. I'm going to attempt to shape the arms properly this time!

I've spent to day crocheting the large bag from the July #CurateCrochetBox. I had to frog rows 9, 10, and 11 several times. I kept missing a slip stitch. I changed the bee pattern after i made the first one; making it on the bag was a faff. I'd planned to visit mum today. Or go swimming. Tomorrow?

It wasn’t long ago that media used to say lesbians in bathrooms or changing rooms sexualised “innocent” straight women and made them uncomfortable. My obnoxious neighbours continue to play crap music at disgustingly loud volumes and ignore me when i try to ask them to turn the volume down. They play music all afternoon and late into the evening. Some days they start playing music at 9 am. Constant noise is really stressing my nervous system.

So upsetting to see Angela Rayner doubling down on the planned PIP cuts in #PMQs. Does she truly believe that cutting this lifeline for thousands of Disabled people is what she was elected to do? Or is proximity to power simply worth more?

The repeated misinformation from the MPs themselves doesn’t help, and many of the general public doesn’t really know what PIP is or why it’s essential for us, whether we’re in or out of work (again it’s not means tested so you can have it either way).

I suspect it’s an editorial standard but I would love for journalists reporting on the proposed welfare cuts to use PIP or spell it out as Personalised Independence Payment. Pip is cutesy, PIP reminds you it’s an acronym, Independence is *key* here.
