We were so excited to continue our partnership with Friends of Trees again this year! 🌱 Despite a cold morning last weekend, an amazing group of volunteers showed up in SE Vancouver ready to get to work.

We recently spent an entire day at Ridgefield High School teaching students all about mason bees! 🐝 From life cycles and nesting habits to why these native bees matter for healthy ecosystems, it was great to see students engaged, curious, and asking thoughtful questions.

We’re excited to host our very first Pollinators & Pints this Thursday, January 29, starting at 5:30 PM at Gray’s Restaurant! This is a casual, social get-together focused on building community and connecting with others who care about pollinators, native plants, and healthy landscapes.

Warm January days can be tricky for mason bees. We’ve started getting reports of male mason bees emerging early, and it’s simply too soon. Early emergence puts bees at risk. If possible, harvest cocoons and store them in the refrigerator until March, when blooms begin.
