80% of women murdered between 2007-2019 in Northern Ireland were killed at home by someone they knew. Of the 29,000 cases of domestic abuse prosecuted, 66% of perpetrators received a non-custodial sentence. Since 2020 28 women were murdered by their partners or former partner.
