Added Final Fantasy 10, OutRun 2006 and Dragon Quest: Journey of the Cursed King to my PS2 roster. They're joining Sonic Riders, Shadow '05, Klonoa 2 and Sly Cooper 2 as well as all my PS1 games as part of the PS2 collection. I honestly love how the space-efficient the PS2 Slim is.

You know what, staying up until 4 AM listening to Sonic music was worth it. I now have an excuse as to why I'll be falling asleep in my data security and compliance lecture.

Remembered that I got Sega Bass Fishing for free on Steam and, hey, it even has a Sonic crossover for me to find... except I apparently have to beat everything. But that's not the worst part - this game is making me hungry, and I now crave fish and chips.

One day of Sonic crossover research later, I have already lost my sanity. Kyoutou Kotoba RPG Kotodaman will haunt my nightmares, Wayback Machine and machine translation are my new gods, and I am considering getting a PS Vita fighting game based on light novels because Green Hill Zone is in it.

As cool as that new Pi built into a mechanical keyboard sounds... it seems kind of pointless to be honest. RGB is too distracting for office use and a normal Pi is enough for low power day-to-day ARM stuff (like LibreOffice and doomscrolling for example). I guess the 16GB of RAM and the NVMe helps?

Been playing Fighters Megamix because I heard Bean and Bark were in it. Game's pretty cool, I like the ninja.

I'm thinking about doing a blog post about #Sonic crossovers. Anyone know of any really obscure ones that I can cover? Anything's fair game if it involves Sonic characters.

Hear me out on this: Raidou Kuzunoha vs the Phantom Thieves, but Raidou's a decrepit old git when outside of the Metaverse on account of his game taking place 86 years before Persona 5. It also includes a three-way bout between Gotou, Morgana and Schrodinger to see who's the strongest MegaTen cat.

What are 3 franchises/fandoms that activate your neurons when anyone mentions it? These three are basically my entire identity at this point.

My Sonic RPG now flips between overworld and battle gameplay! Right now there's no overworld enemies, so for the time being a basic battle is started whenever I press Escape. Yes, the battles really are that rough and early in development. "make it good later" and all that jazz.

Put together the first draft for the overworld gameplay for my Sonic RPG. There's mo momentum physics or anything, but you do have a sprint button and an air dash. I'd like to add a spindash next so that you can ambush enemies, but I should probably make overworld enemies first.

What do you MEAN they lowered the character limit on descriptions here to just 256 characters so I can't edit it without gutting all of the content!?

There's nothing worse than realising you forgot to push a commit to your Git repository and won't have access to the computer with said commit for another week or so. Case in point? A Sonic fan game I'm making is lacking a change that I made to it. It's one I guess I can live without for now.

Don't know if this is considered a leak, buuut... This game almost certainly won't have the track selection I want, which once again means it's back to trying to get Wine to cooperate with those dodgy CRIWare converters so that I can replace the entire soundtrack with Ys. Yes, that's a thing I do.

Just beat the Raidou 1 remake. It was really good! I can finally remove one game from the backlog, but I still have a ways to go.

Last night I somehow realised I was dreaming and then my dream self had a rant about ascending to godhood. I must be going off the deep end.

So I watched Sonic Boom. It's definitely one of those turn your brain off shows and there's nothing about it that says it HAS to be a Sonic show. Also, they got Knuckles' character all wrong. I did enjoy it though. It's kind of addictive and I jive with the brand of humour that they're going for.

Changed my tertiary PC from Nobara (basically just "gamer Fedora") to Debian because it often goes a month or so without getting turned on and would therefore benefit from a distro with a slower release cycle. Now I just have to get back into the habit of using apt instead of dnf...

PC, specifically when it eventually goes on offer because I am not paying that bonkers asking price. Don't see the point of console anymore to be honest. They're all just PCs in disguise and everything comes out on Steam anyway.

Just found out that the Sonic 3 AIR forums went down. To be completely honest the closure doesn't affect me in the slightest. I barely used the bloody thing because they somehow managed to make something even worse than Gamebanana. I didn't know such a regression was even possible!

Somehow, I actually got into writing my first DS homebrew today. Doing some basic stuff with BlocksDS somehow made me not hate writing C, partly because they provide preassembled easy makefiles. Stopped after figuring out how NitroFS works, but next I'll try doing graphics on there.

Took part in the Sonic Stadium's game night for Sonic Crossworlds. It was a 3D Blast! Looking forward to another Game Night and the Joker event tommorow. You bet I'll be right over when this game shows up in the Steam Sale!

Gonna fiddle with emulators on the DSi for a bit and then play more of the Crossworlds test. After the test ends though I'm likely ditching Sonic for a bit to play the new Shinobi. It's been making sad faces at me in my Steam library :( (And unlike Crossworlds it had a preorder discount!)

*sits down* My dominant hand is unimpressed to inform you all that you can chain drifts easily on the hoverboards in Sonic Crossworlds. Drift boost right, drift boost left... back and forth, build up speed, time trials are yours. All that's standing in the way is my skill issue. Boost builds rock!

I haven't had as much fun with a kart racer as much as I've had fun with Sonic Crossworlds since... ever, really. Would be nice if it had the team mode from Team Sonic Racing more graphical options to take advantage of my big PC, but that wasn't as big as the stupid grin I had while playing it.

I honestly really appreciate how I can just use my PS1 SCART cable with the PS2. I don't need any more kit to use it, just use the cable I already have and plug it into the OSSC. TV doesn't really like it though so I have to use my PC monitor, further messing up my desk setup.

Now that I've gotten a #PS2, I need to figure out what I should focus on for collecting. Any suggestions for some PS2 games? I'm mostly into RPGs but I'll take any game and genre as long as it has a PAL version.

Today I picked up a PS2 and everyone's favourite wrestling game: Klonoa 2, apparently.

You know what's the most embarassing thing? Realising that the program you're using isn't accepting key inputs because you'd accidentally alt-tabbed into Firefox but you didn't know because the program was in exclusive fullscreen and now your search history is full of "zxasx" over and over again.

So I just beat Pokemon Ranger. It's literally a game about drawing circles around Pokemon... and yet it's surprisingly good!? Probably won't go right into the sequels though because it looks to have a good bit of postgame content.

What do you MEAN that they're doing one of these on the same day that Shinobi: Art of Vengeance comes out!? I'll probably be away then as well so I won't be able to play it. At least not without melting my laptop's CPU, anyway.

I can't believe that the new Bubsy game actually looks like it could be good. Bubsy's kind of like Commodore - he constantly dies catastrophically but somehow manages to claw his way out of the bowels of Hell every fortnight in hopes that *maybe* this time he'll be back for good. Maybe.

I just realised that even though I got my username from there, I haven't been on Pixpet.net in *ages*. It's nothing too fancy; just one of those websites where you log in every day and click buttons. It does have a decent text RPG though and at one point I was a paying subscriber for it as well.

I'd actually consider a gaming laptop to complement my main PC rig if they didn't look so stupid. I'm fine with a thicker device and I can live with needing to charge it more often, but do they really need all those stupid lights and aesthetic touches? Why can't they just look like a laptop?

Wow! The Doom RPG for BREW phones is actually really good! Well, okay, I'm using the fanmade PC port. Still, it's a lot of fun and I just wish it had music playing during gameplay rather than just on the menus. It may just be the closest I'll ever get to a Doom and SMT crossover.

Take it from a Wii U kid, Nintendo's home consoles are rubbish. The only reason people buy them is because of recognisable characters and not much else. Their handhelds (not the Switch I hate that one) are much, much, much better than their home systems. Special mention goes to the DS line.

Rating Sonic boxarts has made me realise that I actually value visual presentation and style even more than I thought I did. For the record, I just crowned Sonic Battle to have the best Sonic boxart, even though the game itself is actually a bit pants.
