Spent the last couple days watching animals. I've come to believe a couple things: 1. Humans are way off into our own aberration of a civilization. Lost. 2. We seem to be in an era of reduced biodiversity. There aren't enough animals to explain all the variation we see. 3. We're doomed.

We don't notice it but widdle kitties are small efficient predators. And humans spread them around the globe. In a post human world, cats will thrive and are likely to evolve into the world's next dominant species. Someday Muffin McFluffypants will be analyzing our remains.

I think I found my dream job. My goal is now to be a tiger in the enclosure at Disney World.

Having a major personal growth experience this week and I feel so amazing!

The number of people who still have their faces buried in phones while driving 83 mph into a wall of traffic confounds me.

In 2020 I had a vision. A world run by elites in a small city of towers. Outside the walls, people were exploited for resources, but largely unpoliced, treated as feral. Robots would apply "motivation." Elites were locked into meaningless lives inside. Outside poverty, violence and disease reigned.

I'm no longer even a little convinced that all these data centers are for AI chatbots and shiny meme generators.

The fact that NVIDIA ceo is having to publicly denounce AI negativity shows that the AI companies have lost the initiative. They are no longer in sente (as in the game of go). They are on the defensive now.

We need to find a way to teach people that there is no honor in doing things because you think you can get away with it.

What would life be like if there were no internet and we all just met up in parlours to listen to live music together and make bets about whether one could have an adventure around the globe?

It's not about whether your art is "good." It's about telling a story, communicating an experience, filling the world with empathy. Connecting with other souls. We grew up being told art was a commodity and a competition. That is why so many people have no emotional intelligence.

Ugh. I hope I'm just dooming. My intuition is off the charts today. Something is saying, "brace for impact." It isn't panicky. The feeling just won't stop.

I dont want to be too negative so I'll get back to art and animation soon. But I can't shake the feeling that the sun had set on the USA in 2017, and now we're just in a long unraveling. It all just seems to be washing away.

2026 is here! Time to resolve to finish all the stuff I failed to actually do in 2025.

To be less negative, the question now hovers around where the future really lies and how to engage with the (good) emerging order. There's always a place where something is evolving in the right direction, even as things fall apart. I should make an animation about that.

I need to start listening to my intuition again. I was feeling the sense that 2026 would be dark and ugly but I thought I was just being doomy and shrugged it off. The world I knew does seem to be truly lost.

2026 felt like the distant, incomprehensible future when I was young. But now, the time of my youth is an ethereal era of myth. No distinct line of action connects these eons. Rather, I see now how things evolved indistinctly, as if through a mist of living chaos.

I restarted a new playthrough of TOTK but with self-imposed restrictions. I'm enjoying it more this time, but I still can't bring myself to care about the world or story at all.

No tangible productivity today. But, sometimes work doesn't happen at a desk. Sometimes progress doesn't look like a checklist. Sometimes you F around, go to the record store, eat too much candy, then understand the entire story, themes, message, and characters in a single moment. 😁

Feeling a strong inclination to put down internet and prioritize going on adventures in the coming year.
