This weekend I came out as nonbinary to my parents, & totally expected my dad to make some bigoted comment, but just had this look of realization on his face & said nothing. Then proceeded to give me a knife as a gift to protect myself, & that’s honestly the most dad-like acceptance I can think of 😭

I spent so much of my twenties dreading turning 30 because everyone makes it out to be this awful milestone of "haha you're old and your life is over" I'm 29 now but I literally feel like my life finally STARTED last year, and for the first time, I can say I genuinely love my life?? 😭
