They walked hand in hand to the riverside and slowly started making their way up towards the usual ice cream spot. “I always enjoy the scenery here!” She said with glee.

“I’ll lead us the quickest way to the river so we can enjoy the view together. Sound good?” She was letting her nerves get to her a bit.

“Well. How can I help?” She wondered if she was doing the right thing.

“Yeaaah..” She just realized her parents were listening in. “Yeah! Let’s go!” She hoped her parents didn’t think too much into the ice cream together.

“Oh no… you can’t be serious.” She gawked.

“Well would you like to go down to the river and see if we can get some ice cream? The best in Paris!”

“Your home..?” She didn’t know why but she definitely felt bad for this soul.

“Sorry about that!” She said as he sat her down. “I get quite busy with my hobbies!” She said while hoping that was a good enough excuse. “It is good to see you though, would you like to hang out?”

“I’m not going anywhere with you.” She continued her cold glare. “It doesn’t matter where you came from if you want to use my power for evil!”

Marinette had just calmed down and was lying on her bed when her mother knocked on her attic door before sticking her head in and saying Marinette had a guest. Mari bounced down the stairs and widened her eyes a bit when she saw who it was. “Oh hey, Ben! What’s up?”

Ladybug quickly swinged to her rooftop balcony before saying “Spots off.” and de-transforming back into her usual self. She sighed a breath of relief before heading inside.

Her eyes widened a bit at the mention of bodies before narrowing harshly at her new opponent. “What is it exactly that you wish to obtain from here?”

“See ya!” And with that she waved and used her yoyo to swing to a local roof and out of sight.

“Oh, is that so?” She raised an eyebrow while trying to size him up— or rather figure anything about him out.

“Uhh.. I… diiiid?” She blushed and blinked. “Just relaying what I heard!” Ladybug said with confidence.

“Aha! I thought it was you!” She blurted out before dramatically covering her mouth then stating, “Yeah I heard about a handsome tourist from a friend. She also said you’re very nice. So it’s good to meet you, Civilian!”

“I wouldn’t call it great, but no one was hurt so that a win!” She paused and really looked at him, “You’re new here, right?”

“I’m no queen. You must be mistaken!” She didn’t the way things were going. People might get hurt.

“What is this?!” She called out. “Everyone get inside!” Ladybug instructed the nearby Parisians.

Ladybug got into battle stance and grabbed her yoyo while looking where the laughter was coming from.

“What the…!” Ladybug glanced around quickly scanning the area but coming up short on an answer.

“I-I don’t think we’ve met before!!” She immediately blurts out before regaining her cool demeanor, “I mean, there’s a lot of people around here who look similar..!” She laughs.

“Oh! Uh yeah! Everything’s fine now.” She noticed him flying, “Were you here to help?”

Ladybug had just finished saving Paris once again and was about to go relax. She was in a great mood after her recent victory.

“Oh! So if you want to learn about the history of Paris, we have a great museum. If you’d rather just see the sites while you’re here I’m sure there’s vlogs on all of that stuff we can check out as we go!” Marinette was very enthusiastic about her city.

“Not around here anyways!” She chuckled.

“Haha well, I’m pretty sure nothing tops the crazy superhero-supervillain cat and mouse game.” She had been purposely avoiding the ‘superhero’ topic.

“Yeah, I’m always down for a great smoothie!” She awkwardly laughs.

“Oh that sounds nice.” She breathed out a sigh of relief.

She blushed a deep red, “Th-Thanks…! So would you like to tell me what it’s like where you’re from?” She tried changing the subject.

“Uh what— er… I mean us citizens! We can’t let him take over our emotions!” She frantically waves her hands around as she speaks.

“Well…. There’s this villain who calls himself Monarch who uses the citizens’ negative emotions against them… and turns them into superpowered villains themselves, but it’s not their fault! Monach makes their bad emotions take full control over their actions.” “That’s why we have to stop him.”

“Hm well there’s a lovely pier you should check out, along with of course the Eiffel Tower! But remember to always keep your emotions in check to not become akumatized. Don’t worry, it’s not super likely to happen or anything!!” She starts to worry maybe she should’ve kept her mouth shut on this.

“Mari? I like it!” She already almost forgot what they were just talking about at the new nickname.

She chuckled and said, “I see. It must be rough if it happens that often!”

“Are you famous? I hear that happens to celebrities quite a bit!”

“I get that a lot.. I look young for my age!” She teasingly pouts.

“Oh! Nice! I was just thinking you looked a little young for graduating college.” She giggled softly. “Good to know it was just high school, and I hope you’ll enjoy your vacation here!!”

“Graduated high school?” She eyes him up trying to judge his age.

“Yeah! Seems like it to me too!” She sips her coffee and takes a seat in a booth at the cozy cafe. “Do you intend on going anywhere specific while you’re here, or just wandering around, seeing the sites?”

“Don’t worry! I have a best friend just like that!” She laughed, already getting along well with Ben.
