An eruption was observed today following an event that took place behind the west limb around 12:25 UTC (Sept 9). STEREO Ahead (COR2) captured this coronal mass ejection (CME) leaving the Sun and because it is farsided, it will be directed away from Earth. SolarHam.com

The latest EPAM update at 20:01 UTC (9/1). is showing a spike in particle levels meaning the CME that left the Sun on Saturday is getting closer. Stay tuned for updates.

Incoming coronagraph imagery by GOES-19 CCOR confirms a halo CME is associated with the M2.7 flare and appears to be Earth directed. I would expect a passage past Earth within 48-72 hours and at least a minor (G1) or even a moderate (G2) geomagnetic storm watch to be issued

The sunspot region that many have been anticipating is now beginning to turn into view from off the east limb. It remains to be seen just how magnetically complex it is and if it still poses a threat for strong solar flares. We will find out more over the next 24 hours.

A coronal hole stream is now moving past Earth above 600 km/s. Active geomagnetic conditions (Kp4) is being observed and a watch for minor (G1) geomagnetic storming is in effect for the remainder of today.

A fairly rapid M4.4 solar flare was just detected around AR 4168 near center disk at 15:53 UTC (Aug 5). Although a large coronal mass ejection (CME) should not be expected, a further update will be provided if necessary.

An M2.9 solar flare, the first M-Flare since July 12th, was observed this morning around AR 4168 at 13:57 UTC. SolarHam.com

AR 4167 located near center disk continues to expand and is also showing signs of mixed magnetic polarity within the center of the group. Minor C-Flares are currently being detected on Friday (Aug 1) and there may now be an increased chance for an isolated moderate M-Flare.

A faint and slow moving partial halo CME was observed leaving the Sun on Wednesday after 07:30 UTC (July 23). According to NOAA/SWPC, a passage past Earth may be possible by July 27th. More updates in the days ahead.

An M2.4 solar flare (possibly stronger) was observed off the east limb peaking at 04:17 UTC (July 8). The source is likely old region 4115 which we should begin to see again later this week when it rotates back into view. SolarHam.com

A nice prominence eruption was observed on Thursday morning off the west limb beginning around 07:00 UTC (July 3). This resulted in a fairly bright coronal mass ejection (CME) that is directed to the west and away from Earth.

A faint, partial halo CME observed leaving the Sun on Saturday is predicted to possibly pass Earth by July 2nd. A minor (G1) storm watch was issued should a portion of the plasma cloud indeed pass Earth.

Geomagnetic Storm watch beginning on June 25th has been updated to possible G2 (Moderate) conditions. Storming could persist into June 26th thanks to an expected coronal hole stream. Probabilities in this graphic are estimated and will be adjusted at 22:00 UTC today.

Coronal hole #59 is now beginning to directly face Earth. A minor (G1) geomagnetic storm watch was added beginning June 25th when a high speed solar wind stream is predicted to reach Earth.
