We still have lawmakers trying to criminalize abortion, wanting to sue MODOT bc they weren’t satisfied with the response to the recent snow (last year MO was short 900 drivers), wanting to eliminate income taxes (2/3 of our gen revenue) when we are facing a $1 billion dollar budget shortfall….

More tax breaks for the rich disguised as a tax cut for all. Eliminating the income tax will do nothing for majority of Missourians if we have to replace it with 17% sales tax on everything.

This weekend is the final chance to sign the petition so Missourians can have a direct say in the gerrymandered maps our Republican legislature recklessly pushed through. They work for US and they should respect our right to vote on legislation they pass that we don’t agree with.

The irony is not lost on me that they chose the name Put Missouri First, to protect a gerrymandered map from Washington DC, that our own republican lawmakers would not disclose the author of while in session. Not to mention they are trying to literally silence the voices of Missourians.

Springfield is the only city in Greene County to pose a question on the November ballot. Therefore the city has to cover the entire cost of the election (estimated >$277,000). Voter turnout is estimated to be roughly 5% so we better show up today and make it worthwhile ⬇️

Did you know: Every dollar the federal gov spends on SNAP benefits generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity. SNAP benefits only made up about 1.5% of government spending in 2024.
