Well it seems to me that in Alberta most of our natural gas is derived from sour gas wells that need to be processed. Just as with our oil it requires processing before shipping too. What our babbling politicians don’t seem to understand it is not JUST a pipeline to ship stuff or feed a data Center

When you consider Alberta and it’s desire to increase its electrical generation you don’t need more gas. There is cogeneration, waste heat recovery or even using existing compressor facilities to install an electric turbine on it. compressor stations west of Olds use 20-30 thousand HP jet engines

What I notice is that these AI salesmen say they will get their own water. They will generate their own electricity.They will create all these “jobs”. They don’t answer the where and the how. Construction jobs only last as long as a project is being built within the scope of a construction activity.

Why do we Canadians assume that Alberta has this “unlimited” energy supply? As we see from our utility bills we have unregulated energy supply already. CORPORATE OWNED. Any natural gas one the East slope of Alberta is sour gas with those plants built in the 1960’s. Shell Caroline is the newest.

So when after the USA messed up Iran it opted for Hussain for a buddy in Iraq. That didn’t go over well either so now Israel wants to be the big dog in the Middle East with USA backing. I can’t see that going over well soon either. Religious nut jobs versus religious nut jobs never ends up well

So something for Albertans to consider.When you use 1800 technology when one area is used up then you have to dig another hole in another area. In SAGD technology when a reservoir is used up you just build another well pad and cap the old wells.Either way it does not create these “jobs” as suggested

In my foggy memory I recall the issues that arose with a previous pipeline through BC. There were 3 route options. 2 to go around the First Nations sacred ground and one that went straight through. To go around would cost an extra $2mm. Which would you choose? There was a very simple solution
