Nice to get the two White Storks that have been visiting the Norfolk coast recently from my garden in Horsey just now 🙂

I have updated the @norfolknats.bsky.social species guide to Norfolk Psyllids, which is available to download from the NNNS website here: norfolknaturalists.org.uk/wp/wp-conten... It now covers 60 species (about 3/5 of the British list) so is hopefully of use even for those outside of Norfolk.

Nice addition to my house list in Horsey just now, the lovely Black-winged Kite which has been knocking around east Norfolk for the past couple of weeks!

A lovely Eyed Hawk Moth in my garden in Horsey this morning.

Pleased to see the scarce dune loving spider Marpissa nivoyi at Horsey dunes yesterday. Long known from the North Norfolk coast but just a single record from the East Norfolk dunes until now.

A nice fresh Yellow Horned in my moth trap this morning. Widespread in woodland but scarce in coastal east Norfolk, only my second record in 11 years at Horsey.

Lovely spring morning in east Norfolk, Bitterns booming, Blackcaps and Chiffchaffs singing and this Comma soaking up the sunshine.

Could this violet be Viola alba? On a roadside verge in Horsey this morning.

Syntormon metathesis is a small dolichopid fly which was only recognised as British a few years ago, but appears to be sparsely present in fenland habitat in the east of England. It also appears, unusually, to be winter active judging by this female near Great Yarmouth in Norfolk today.

Aphids aren't everyone's idea of excitement, but this one has cool eyes on stalks. This is Caricosipha paniculatae, found on sedge at Sweetbriar Marshes in Norwich today and no doubt very under-recorded. Thanks to James Emerson for the ID.

I caught a little leaf-mining fly from my garden in Horsey the other day, turns out it's new to the UK. Thanks to Barry Warrington of the National Agromyzidae Recording Scheme for the ID.

I came across hundreds of Cut-leaved Teasel yesterday at Farrow's Wood near Acle, a very statuesque plant that I'd never seen before.
