My CintiQ 13HD turns 12 in August. It's scratchy, has dust inside, and it's started to occasionally display vertical lines along the left side and a mesh along the whole screen. I love it dearly but fear it's not long for this world... I wonder how to commemorate its long life.

Gonna be honest, I think it's revolting how USAmerican capitalism has entirely destroyed the communal aspect of art. Artists dispense sanitized, voiceless nothing-art, viewers hit "like", end of transaction. It's not even called "art" anymore, but fucking "content".

This was meant to be really simple, like "lighter shapes to suggest buildings" -simple. But uhh... yeah that didn't happen. I don't know whether I'm leaving it in the final piece so I'm putting it here.

Today's thought: noticing just how different my sketches look depending on whether I'm using my paint- or ink brush. Paint: swoosh, haha! wee! Ink: STRUCTURE :D

Me 20hrs into a drawing: y'know, maybe I should use a different technique for this one small spot in the middle of an evenly rendered area! Sadly I am not the kind of a person who's capable of letting mistakes go, so wish me luck as I begin to re-render the rest of the piece :')

Can't asleep. cone more. My first book character, Vincent. He saw his parents murdered when he was 5yo, grew up on the streets, and at 16 found out his house had a secret fucking door to a fantasy world where he's the heir to the throne. Two books later he commits suicide at 31 years old.

I got grounded for 2 weeks in 2008 for drawing Vince, because drawing on the computer constituted as gaming. I re-drew him as a 16-yo in 2018. This is a few days before he canonically flees home and starts living with Tom, whom runs the club he's been DJ'ing at. He was my first self-insert.

2012 and late 2025 Haan. The OG version of him had been hunted down by humans, whom carved his back full of slurs they called galk. They scars still remain as proof he will never be ""human"", if you understand the metaphor. He fought to remain ""human"", and he won.

2021 + 2022. The shorter figure in 1st, and right-most one in 2nd are Tick, the deuteragonist of an unnamed book about two devils held hostage in a research institute that just so happens to occupy my children's home's address. they flee once, to the park, in a 2006 story. Remember the dragon? I do.
