Remember having a ball like this? And we never even thought about asking for a new one. We played with this one until there was nothing left.

In December 1993, this game came out for the Sega Megadrive. From EA Sports: FIFA International Soccer. The graphics were ahead of its time. David Platt was on the cover of this version released in the UK.

On this day back in 1979, Brian Moore opened The Big Match postbag. Moore gave out the full addresses of the people writing in. The content of the letters are so polite. It's great. A totally different era.

I used to love these team photos in Shoot and Match. Coventry City under the guidance of Ron Atkinson. Mick Brown was part of his staff, as he had been elsewhere.

This was a warning sign. BSB had rights to show live England games in the early 90s. They also sent football fans all over the place for Monday night FA Cup ties. I speak from experience on that one. Then after Sky took them over (or merged if you want) it got worse for fans.

For the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, Adidas launched their new ball. The azteca Mexico was then seen around English football grounds from the start of the 86/87 season. I always preferred the Tango though.

What is the biggest what if for your club? A player that didn't sign? A missed penalty that changed everything? An offside goal that cost a big game? What sliding doors moment can you think of for your team?

Now here's a game that I've never played before. Spain & Real Madrid star Emilio "the vulture" Butragueño had his own "Futbol" game n 1988. It was made by Ocean and for Spectrum, Commodore 64 and Amstrad CPC. Anyone out there ever played it?

Today Brian Clough would have been 90 years old. For all his classic quotes and moments, I'll never forget the great computer game he put his name to back in the 80s. If you ever played it, you'll know what I mean. What are your favourite Cloughie moments?
