Couldn’t be happier for Harry Maguire. Wish him only good things after the torrent of abuse he suffered. He talks so well and you can see it means so much to him. His resilience, determination and strength of character can only be admired.

Ineos have copped a lot of stick but think Ugarte aside, every signing has been good. Jury is still out on some like Šeško but Cunha & Mbeumo are absolute United players & 2 games in, Lammens has already made a huuuuge difference. Will Ineos get the credit they’re due? Doubt it.

Curious to see the media coverage after United’s win at Anfield, given how most journos are absolutely lapping up every move from Slot and Liverpool. Will be interesting to see the scrutiny Slot gets compared to Amorim.

So many Twitter fans wanted Olé out at the time. And looking back, his time is still the most fun since SAF retired and only back to back top 4 finishes. Olé for lots of reasons shouldn’t come back but hopefully he gets the respect he deserved at the time.

It genuinely pains me that we may end up sacking yet another manager and continuing to repeat the cycle yet it is completely necessary and inevitable and has felt inevitable all season.

United really deserved nothing out of that game. First 10 minutes deceived us. Gradually lost control through 1st half and never really regained it. You’re either giving pressure or taking it. Performance has guaranteed that manager and team are back under pressure. No let up.

Just my own observation. We seem really afraid of taking risks high up the pitch. Very worried to lose the ball. But seem very happy to take risks closer to goal. Sweeping statements I know. I’m sure it’s not intentional but it happens regularly. Fulham in the ascendancy.

It’s only been one league game but think all of last season’s top 4 have quite a few flaws. In previous season’s there has always been at least one if not two stand out teams. But I am not sure there is. I could be dreaming and jury is out on United but maybe…top 4…maybe.

My son idolised Garnacho…easily his favourite player. Turns out he’s a silly boy who is being very badly advised. Who knows how his career will pan out, but there is a litany of stories of players who were immature and left United to then not go on to fulfil their potential.

Kobbie most have been disappointed not to have at least come on. Not sure why he’s not getting more game time.

I’m convinced the 1 game a week and no Europe is a blessing in disguise. But I already want the next game to be here. 🤦‍♂️ Waiting a week will be just rubbish. 😂

My hope for the season is that United become a coherent and cohesive team that look well coached. This was the first step towards that. Results will come if we put in good performances. But above all else, I’d like performances that generate positivity and optimism.

Mount is like a new signing. Think he can rotate with Mbeumo and Cunha and more than contribute. Think his contribution is underrated and he’s judged on his jury record. If he can stay fit, think he’ll be an important player.

I’m interested in how we do against the Brighton’s and Bournemouth’s in the league. Teams play are well coached but are not top tier who often cause United the most trouble. Not being glass half empty. Very encouraging performance. Performance more important than result.

No question, Amorim is making a point to Onana and probably the exec management. I’m now feeling like United will force the keeper situation to get a new keeper in.

Not sure we’ve learnt much we didn’t already know. United need a new keeper and a midfielder. That’s not strictly true, we’ve learnt much more about the United we should see this season and just how much Mbeumo and Cunha will transform this team. Mount like a new signing too.

Ugarte did himself no favours today. On the back of this, think Casemiro will play a lot of games. Can see Ugarte being in next summer’s bomb squad with games like that and he only played about 30 minutes.

Mbeumo and Cunha are completely vindicating the decision to be buy premier league proven players. Looking very comfortable. Big shout out to Mount. United winning more 2nd balls.

Putting the goal aside….United the better team and there is enough here to suggest United won’t be as bad as last season. Doesn’t mean we’re going to finish top whatever or can’t be improved upon. But we’re not playing shit. Encouraging., #Imabaleba

If Utd had bid 150m, we’d have been criticised for over spending. If we had gone for someone easier to sign, lack of ambition. If we’d kept pursuing, then not learning from the de Jong saga. No win situation for Ineos & transfer isn’t 100% in their hands. Can’t fault them tbh.

Great interview with Harry Maguire with Rio where he hinted at a lot of stuff surrounding Olé’s exit. I’ve always maintained Olé has been under appreciated and underrated and his time has aged well.

The hysteria by United fans over the fee for Sesko is ridiculous. So many people are just unstable! Payment terms is as important as fee if not more so. We have a cash problem. We need to spread payments as much as possible in the short term.

Clear club briefing on being prepared to sell Højlund for £30m. Regardless of him wanting to stay, it seems likely he will go. Shame, I was desperate for him to do well. But United need absolute performers right now.

If United were to sign Sesko, it would not be a bad thing for Højlund to go the other way with a buy back. I personally have always felt there is a player there but getting an opportunity to play every game in a good league but out of the spot light is no bad thing.

Really pleased with goal for Williams. Always enjoyed watching him in the academy. Doesn’t get the hype of others but think he’s solid.

“If” we get Sesko curious on people’s thoughts on Ineos now. A lot of haters out there a few months ago but you can’t question (in my opinion) the quality of targets they are going for. Business feels more shrewd. Still desperate for a midfielder & keeper but good window so far.

My only observation on today’s game us, I don’t see how a midfield balance with Bruno and I don’t know how with Bruno likely to play CM, how abs when Kobbie will fit, especially with 1 game a week. It will be a travesty if we don’t build around Kobbie.

Was supposed to be going out with my wife to see her friends. Unfortunately she’s not been well so I’ll have to occupy myself watching the face against Leeds…oh well! 😂

Not keen on the new away strip. I bought myself last season’s 3rd kit before they discontinue it which I thought was an instant classic. Kobbie on the back.

Stayed quiet through the summer break from football. Not going to just repeat the same opinions all over social media. The value of positive momentum is clear. Chelsea has it - not just from beating PSG - and United needs it and Chelsea have been building it for a while.

Very pleased Bruno is staying as I was sure he was gone! Beyond his ability, he provides much needed experience and leadership which cannot be overstated. Feel with Mbeumo though, Bruno will be in midfield far more and we need to find a better midfield balance imo.

Maybe next year would be a central CB to replace Maguire and an elite midfieder. Wingback maybe? Age profile of the team is quite good. Only Maguire, Casemiro and Bruno are over 30. Can see next year us moving to signing 2-3 players rather than the 4-5 we have been doing.

Downside is next transfer needs sales first. Don’t think we buy a midfielder unless Bruno leaves. Expect Casemiro to see out his contract. Not completely convinced on the midfield balance between any combo l. If we buy a 4th player, it’ll be a keeper unless Bruno goes.

Cunha and Mbeumo will bring out the best in Zirkzee. I’m convinced of it. I would much rather we focus on midfield next.

And just like that we get the Ornstein nod on Mbeumo. Don’t think this rebuild is going too badly so far. First Cunha and now Mbeumo. Window been open 2 days. I’ve never been as down on Ineos. Some mistakes, sure, but really Hope to see more positivity & optimism after this.

If Bruno went, I’d be more tempted to splash it all out on Wharton-no idea though what that does for Kobbie long term which would be my only concern. Do think it would be a statement. Would be happier to do that than buy a striker. Zirkzee would excel either way Cunha/Mbeumo.

If Bruno did go. I’ve no idea who would be captain. Maybe Maguire but I think he could go at the end of next season. Then we’re into Casemiro? Dalot? 🤯 Not many options & very few who have been at United for any length of time. 🤷‍♂️ Quite a worrying thought if Bruno left!

Random thought. If United didn’t know Bruno was contemplating leaving, then why have they started to look at Mbeumo. That transfer would necessitate Bruno playing in the pivot & I don’t believe that’s really the plan. Definitely feel there is a very good chance of Bruno going.

In no way do I want Bruno to leave. No one is irreplaceable but he’s shown he’s one of the few (or only) player of proper quality and the character to match. But if United are going to entertain it, they shouldn’t accept a penny less than £150m. Even then I’d rather say no ta.

Will be unhappy if Bruno goes. When we lacked leaders, he fronted up and carried the team. He owes us nothing & appreciate Saudi offer can be transformative for him. But he should be able to finish his career with us. But feels like this will only end one way. £80m is not enough.
