Playing around with dual WaveBoys. 1st is my DirtySaws in detune with an AD envelope in retro mode. Output is split for a pure dry output mixed with the 2nd WB, which is in delay mode. No filter. Sounds cool but I was also testing an alt recording setup and that didn't quite work out. #WaveBoy

I also managed to finally measure the current draw for the WaveBoy so I can finally add to to the modular grid page (modulargrid.com/e/bitbybit-s...) It's 39mA on +12V and 11mA on -12V for the curious.

Oof some days. So my old power bus failed open and was passing -/+ 15V to my modules (!). None seemed particularly bothered but that was bad. I've had my own active bus design for a while and, well, finally got a chance to test it for real! Here it is! #Eurorack #Modular #Power

I've been thinking about how I can make managing Samples a little easier for WaveBoy. Right now you have to name the wav files 0-f.wav (hex) with 0-f.txt metadata files (which contain the name, loop points, and other default settings). It'd be nice if the name could be in the file, but... #waveboy

I wasn't sure if having long samples would be a good feature for WaveBoy, but we used it today at band practice. I exported John's vocal into the Waveboy so we could do some pitchy effects. It, along with Wasp, Persephone, and Monsoon made for something wild!

Success! Using 2 512-byte buffers seems to do the trick. Playing several MB samples without issue! More testing needed, including making sure swapping samples works as well as loops (which are going to be more complicated). #WaveBoy #Sampler

Looks like I'm going to need to use a buffer after all for streaming reads. While the normal case for reading the SD card is fast, the worst case is much longer. I think that's when a block gets crossed. The penalty is the same up to 512 bytes. #WaveBoy #Sampler

Streaming for the SD card totally works! But I did run into some artifacts, seemingly not related to the speed of reading as far as I can tell. But I also found a bug in the current implementation of the Sampler, womp. Progress though! #WaveBoy

Back from vacay, looking at streaming audio off the SD card again. Doing SD card benchmarks, sure, reading 512-bytes at a time is faster. Reading 2 bytes at a time, though, seems to be plenty good and keeps everything rather simple so I will test that out first. #WaveBoy #Sampler
