Infinite scrolling is now enabled on the new map, I just need to: - add the overages past the borders, to maintain the illusion - Fine-tune the offsets so the transition is seamless But that's good progress.

I've gotten dressed in real clothes, not just a clean pair of pajamas, for two consecutive days. I'm making a habit out of it.

I’m done for the day, so I started Absolute Martian Manhunter. It’s good and trippy so far.

You know, that's a pretty great plateau there.

The Godot transparency issue was an easy fix: landforms that sit on top of terrain must be in a diferent layer or they replace the terrain, which deletes the terrain and shows the transparent portion as grey.

Supposedly (SUPPOSDELY), if I export the same tileset, but with transparency enabled, I won't have to redo collisions if I import that new tileset into Godot. I'll take care of that soon.

Look alll these issues I get to fix! - Transparency isn't tranparenc...ing - Zel's hitbox is too big to get through the entrance - Zel is appearing in front of some tiles she should hide behind. Looks like I have a whole lot of learning opportunities!

I don't know what finally clicked, but I understand Godot's TileMapLayer on a much deeper level now. It's still going to be arduous work, but at least it's comprehensible work.

I'm not any sort of industry professional (yet) so Affinity meets my needs, at least until they decide to somehow make it unattractive (start charging for it, add more AI, make tapioca pudding ooze from my USB-C port).

I don't know who this will help, but I've found that I was following part of the Fibonacci sequence when rounding my corners. Starting from the outside, I shaved off 8, then 5, then 3 pixels as I went in. 3, 5, and 8 are the 5th-7th numbers in the sequence. #gamedev #indiedev #pixelart
