For the shawl cue in #showmeyourknits, this is the latest Stephen West mkal, GoGo Dynamo, made in hand dyed silk. I wanted spring colours, and was a bit disappointed with the low contrast. Today I am on the verandah past 20.00, the sun is low and out place is in shadow, and the colours pop.

My first mystery knit along was a Stephen West mkal, Shawlography. #showmeyourknits I had carefully picked other colours, but when the MKAL started I was in Copenhagen, so I ran out and bought some other colours as well as some mohair for effect and transparency.

Yellow is not my colour #showmeyourknits, but I do have one project. This is Knotty Gloves by Julia Muller knit in a silk, wool, possum mix a friend brought from New Zealand.

I knit in public at any convenient time, and I brought this sweater to a conference in Finland #showmeyourknits I have showed it before as a wip, it is the Milo hoodie.

This week #showmeyourknits is about knitting in public. The last two months these socks have grown very slowly, as I knit them in public. They are freehanded, Hedgehog sock yarn and a broken rib.

It is #showmeyourknits and it is cowls. Oorito Aran by Asimina Saranti in grey and yellow, Entrelac scarf by Allison LoCicero turned cowl, Njord cowl by Emelie Litwin, and finally my first finished brioche project, a twisted cowl, freehanded.

This week's #showmeyourknits is blankets. I ever only made one, and it is the Starflanket by Stephen West, knit in Vams by Rauma. The one picture is in blue winter light, the other in regular lamp light.

Today #showmeyourknits asked for purple, and I almost had to give up. However, I used purple with mustard in this Njord cowl by Emelie Litwin. Also, accidentally, I made my first attempt at dyeing today, and got this gorgeous yarn by dripping it with grey, purple and magenta.

My favourite DK yarn is Peer Gynt, #showmeyourknits, but I only have a few knits in it. Here are two, both freehanded. The black and white is a Wednesday inspired vest, the blue is a mix of the Marius sweater and a space invader pattern.

The LYS here are big and helpful, but focused on commercial yarns. To buy indie yarns, we need to go to festivals, travel, or order online. For this sweater I ordered the brown contrast colour from Værbitt, since gone offline. The pattern is Birdsong by Manja Vogelsang. #showmeyourknits

The #showmeyourknits topic of the week is indie dyer yarn. I don't use a lot of this. Here are two Lydia Morrow designs, the striped with yarn from garnbutikken Fortuna, Nurja Oy in Tampere and black Lamull Rauma garn, all fingering wool. The fade is silk/wool yarn from Kvitlammet.

Not all gifts are perfect, #showmeyourknits. This was knit using the exact measurements and specifications my sister sent, with no pattern. When she received it she shortened the body, lengthened the sleeves, and reinforced the collar. At least she had the skills to fix it.
