I knit my first projects in the seventies, and garter stitch was prominent. This has left me a bit scarred - garter is not a favourite thing. I have however used it for shadow knitting, Fox on the run by Mark Jamieson. #showmeyourknits

When I moved to Bodø, I had to think about how to integrate with a very coherent journalism research group. Games, social media and strategic communication was not what they were used to. We ended up starting a very relaxed, but useful, research program named The New Local, and co-wrote an article.

I have bought a little yarn from indie dyers, but due to the cost and their frequent use of superwash I have started to dye my own. This is not an indie designer, but I dyed the yarn myself, bought from a store that sells rescued yarn from production. Pattern is Stephen West Mystery Musical.

For the shawl cue in #showmeyourknits, this is the latest Stephen West mkal, GoGo Dynamo, made in hand dyed silk. I wanted spring colours, and was a bit disappointed with the low contrast. Today I am on the verandah past 20.00, the sun is low and out place is in shadow, and the colours pop.

My first mystery knit along was a Stephen West mkal, Shawlography. #showmeyourknits I had carefully picked other colours, but when the MKAL started I was in Copenhagen, so I ran out and bought some other colours as well as some mohair for effect and transparency.
