Just like his team mates Steve Seddon and Joe McDonnell in the current AFC Wimbledon squad, Jake Reeves also qualifies for WOPA membership, after leaving the Dons (but happily returning!) So having chatted to him we’re pleased to add the skipper as our 515th member.

Still pulling on his boots for Dorking Wanderers aged 37, Luke Moore spent five seasons as a regular at AFC Wimbledon between 2009-14 making 187 appearances and scoring 34 goals from his attacking midfield position. Welcome to WOPA Luke 🤝

Currently training to run the New York Marathon at the age of 72, former QPR, Luton and Brighton defender Don Shanks made one FL appearance for Wimbledon in 1984 (as a non-contract player) away at Port Vale. Welcome to WOPA Don 🤝

What’s that? A new WOPA member you say? Darius Charles played 86 games, scoring two goals for AFC Wimbledon in three spells, spanning 2015-18 and was even caretaker manager for one day in 2022 when Mark Robinson left the club and Mark Bowen replaced him. Welcome to WOPA Darius!

Now the owner of a real estate company in Austin, Texas, Alex Tapp came through the Wimbledon academy, representing England schoolboys aged 15. Later made 51 EFL appearances before relocating to the USA in 2008. Welcome to WOPA Alex. 🔵🟡

Joining AFC Wimbledon in November 2020 from Crawley Wasps after a spell in America, midfielder Megan Stow was sidelined with a ligament injury after an excellent first season with the Dons where she contributed nine goals. Now with Dorking Wanderers, we welcome Megan to WOPA 🔵🟡🤝

Goalkeeper John Cheesewright played against Wimbledon in the FA Cup before the Dons borrowed him for their 1995 Intertoto Cup games. Now a wealth manager in the City, John’s football career took him to over 20 clubs from Hong Kong to the Essex Senior League. Welcome to WOPA John!

Wing back Josh Neufville capped a fine 2024/25 by helping AFC Wimbledon gain promotion in the League 2 Playoff Final at Wembley (having already been voted club Player of the Year) in his 99th and final Dons game before joining Bradford City. Josh becomes our 500th WOPA member!

Goalkeeper Jack Turner made his Dons debut as a teenager in 2008 and although mostly an understudy made two EFL appearances in 2011/12. Later had lengthy first choice spells with Staines and Slough and has been ever present at Farnborough for three seasons. Welcome to WOPA Jack 🔵🟡🤝

Another of our promotion-winning team joins WOPA - popular midfielder James Ball. Quickly snapped up by Swindon Town after surprisingly being recently released by the Dons he made 57 appearances and scored two goals. Welcome onboard James 🔵🟡🤝

Very sad to hear that former Wimbledon utility player Andy Marchant passed away earlier today after a long illness. Best known for scoring 5 goals in the 9-0 win over Basingstoke in 1973 that clinched the Mid Surrey Professional Floodlight League title, he later became a successful teacher. RIP Andy

Defender Ben Mason spent nine years with AFC Wimbledon from the U11s to the first team squad, captaining our U18s to an EFL Youth Alliance title. At Dulwich Hamlet last season, he also runs a leadership and mentoring company ‘Achieve 360’ to help and guide young players. Welcome to WOPA Ben. 🔵🟡🤝

Striker Michael Folivi made a single Premier League appearance for Watford before two loan spells with AFC Wimbledon between 2018-2020 where he totalled 24 games scoring three times. Moved onto the non-league circuit and is currently with Sholing. Welcome to WOPA Michael 🔵🟡🤝

Currently playing in the Qatar Stars League for Al-Wakrah, attacking midfielder Ayoub Assal made 97 AFC Wimbledon appearances between 2019-23, scoring 24 goals and was twice voted EFL Young Player of the Month. Also called up by both the England and Morocco U20s. Welcome to WOPA Ayoub!

Winger Paris Lock made a single EFL Trophy appearance for AFC Wimbledon but the former academy product played loan spells at Chatham, Braintree, Tonbridge, Carshalton and Dover. We wish Paris well in his future career and welcome him to WOPA 🔵🟡🤝

Sadly an ACL injury in April 2024 limited winger Ryan McLean’s AFC Wimbledon career to 13 appearances and 2 goals (one a memorable Carabao Cup winner against Coventry City on his professional debut) after joining from Hereford. We wish Ryan well in his future career and welcome him to WOPA 🔵🟡🤝

Good to reconnect with Andy Clarke. After scoring 34 goals in 79 games for Barnet, Wimbledon paid a non-league record £250,000 for him in 1990. Blessed with pace and the nickname ‘Sonic’. Recently confirmed as the permanent Shrewsbury Town manager, Michael Appleton was one of three Manchester United trainees borrowed by Wimbledon to compete in the 1995 Intertoto Cup. He later played 121 times for Preston and managed nine other clubs. Welcome to WOPA Michael 🔵🟡🤝

Dave Ward was AFC Wimbledon Women first team coach for two and a half seasons between 2014 and 2016, after earlier coming up against the Dons men as player/manager of Farnham Town, then as Godalming Town coach. Welcome to WOPA Dave 🔵🟡🤝
