Irish Premiership side Carrick Rangers to remain at Taylors Avenue regardless of sale of land by local council Carrick Rangers have reassured fans that the proposed sale of land at home ground Taylors Avenue by the council will not affect the clubâs tenancy at the venue. The Irish Premiership side from Carrickfergus in County Antrim have a 75-year lease on the ground following an agreement with Mid and East Antrim Borough Council in 2011. Carrick retained their Premiership status at Taylor Avenue in May as they completed an 8-3 aggregate win over Annagh United in the promotion/relegation play-off. And the Amber Army have confirmed that, regardless of the owner of the venue, the existing lease continues to be valid until 2086 and any future owner will inherit that lease. A club statement said: âFollowing the recent announcement that Mid and East Antrim Borough Council intends to put the land at Taylors Avenue up for sale, we would like to reassure stakeholders that this potential transaction will have no impact on Carrick Rangers Football Club. âIn 2011, Carrick Rangers entered into a 75-year lease with the council. âConsequently, if the council were to sell the land to a third party, the lease - including all associated rights, liabilities, and obligations - would automatically transfer to the new owner. âTherefore, regardless of who owns the land, the club will continue to operate as usual.â Carrick Rangers currently sit ninth in the 12-team Premiership after ten games, two fewer games played than Dungannon Swifts above them and ten points ahead of Glenavon in the relegation spot. http://dlvr.it/TNqRRg
