When you're poor, old enough to think of your end, but still writing, with umpteen manuscripts finished but not getting published fast enough... you think 'how can I speed this up?' I'm hiring help despite being stubborn about doing things on my own for decades. Oh, how I miss my workshop days!

I never saw myself doing this... before Trump dismantled all that's humane & decent below the border. So many people are blind to the damage done when you don't 'hear' another person, burying them under your personal bias. We all need to stand up for what's good & right in every corner of our lives!

Outside of several one-off, handmade books and perhaps an anthology, this is my publication covers. (BPR Press is Big Pond Rumours Press). It looks something like a quilt, which feels right.

Mom passed last night at 100 1/2. Married to Al Purdy in 1946 and had one son, Brian, with him before they split. She remained married to Al until he died in 2000. Bare facts are cruel & ridiculous. She departed to 'join Raymond', my Dad, who she was with for 48 years before he died 21 years ago.

I finished my quasi-memoir (age 4-22). I've been told it has too many awful events to believe 1 girl experienced them. I sent it to 2 beta readers & will be on tenter hooks until I hear back. This is the book I envisioned myself writing as a prepubescent girl. I hope I've done my story justice.

One of the major issues I see with Bluesky, going forward, is the severe limit on text characters. One can hardly say a thing before you're running over... It will likely impact the staying power of subscribers. It has likely impacted mine.

Why can I not see my own last post?

In 1975 I was a drug addict & alcoholic. Boyfriend had a contact. Then I was pregnant a 3rd time & quit cold turkey. I had to save my child. Boyfriend deserted as I 'forced fatherhood' on him. My 1st was adopted. My 2nd was a miscarriage. All by age 20. I couldn't give up my 3rd. She saved my life.

I'm working on my draft novel, editing, and because it touches on several incidents that happened to me as a young child it recalls feeling the world was a scary place for females... making it especially difficult to look at the situation of the world today without feeling deja vu, not much changed.

I've starting blocking accounts complaining of utter poverty and requesting donations. Know this will happen to similar posts. There are so many other, more appropriate, resources for assistance. I'm not heartless. But I do suspect they're bots or scammers. Be gone or request assistance elsewhere!

All of a sudden, Bluesky looks like a charity organization? Everyone seems to be posting with a sob story, wanting donations. There are other places that seem more likely resources than this.

I'm editing my novel "Tell That to Picasso" once again. I must've gone over the manuscript at least 25-30 times, start to finish, adding & subtracting words. This time, I put it in a strictly chronological order. Maybe fussing with the timeline doesn't make something more sophisticated.

I've gone through almost everyone who followed me on Bluesky and divided them into lists according to their self-identification. I must say, some say nothing & others only say writer which doesn't allow me to add them to my lists. In any case, here is one for 'Poets'. bsky.app/profile/shar...
