2nd and 3rd graders loved learning to code with the Angry Birds game. It does a great job of teaching the basics.

I had to change my lesson plan due to a power outage today. I was happy that the lacing cards were enjoyed.

Students are studying the Aztecs and that is combined with coding. Students made the market place for the bee bot to visit in addition to other sites.

A great addition to my library is a teacher book swap. I snagged a book this morning I have been wanting to read.

I finished my first full week of classes. We read Fall is for Beginnings by @rajanilarocca.bsky.social. Students really connected with the story. A great way to start the school year.

It is now the last week of school and I have summer bookmarks for students. I hope that it inspires them to read some good books over vacation.

My fifth graders were not interested in a read aloud until they realized what book we were reading. Always a crowd pleaser.

This week's book for the Humor Award is My Pet Feet by Josh Funk. Kids seemed to find it more silly than funny, but would recommend it to a friend.

I was lucky enough to go on the 1st grade field trip to the Dedham Public Library. It was great to see the kids so excited to get their library cards and check out books. I hope this inspires them to life long library patrons.

At the end of the year a Stick Together is a great way to keep students engaged and motivated. They have to put on all of the stickers to know what picture will emerge.

Thanks to inspiration from @wendygarland.bsky.social, 1st and 2nd graders read their first book a part of our Humor Award. They loved it.

Students enjoyed making bridges after reading the wonderful book, Here To There And Me To You.
